Afternoon tea is a tradition that mum and I do – whenever she’s here. As such, I would actually say we have done most of the Afternoon Teas in Dubai, particularly those that were in the Entertainer. Past tense, because as we all know, most venues are (sadly) no longer part of the program. Whilst […]
We took the folks over to the Taj one afternoon mid-May to review the newly opened Nonya over dinner. We returned to Eauzone one fine school night, all excited and dressed up for a much-awaited date night. One&Only Royal Mirage’s modern asian beachside restaurant had recently introduced a new menu. A group of friends had wanted to check it out as well so they booked, and it ended up being a table of 9. Fun […]
A friend had suggested ‘this new place in Jumeirah Islands Clubhouse’ for breakfast. I remember seeing Isola on socials, and it had always been on the to-go-list. Good time, seeing that the weather is still *thankfully* quite cool, or actually very cold and windy these daysearly Feb 2022. Off I went on a school day […]

Well, you must have been to Address Beach Resort by now? Or at least seen (endless) reels taken by their outdoor terrace. Having done the afternoon tea a few years back, I decided to return to Mosaico Lounge again as a treat for a dear family friend of ours over the Christmas period. I wanted somewhere nice, somewhere different than our neighbourhood here in the marina, and of course – an offer, any offer will be a […]
Last week, we had the honour of attending a gala evening hosted by the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority. The event was held in the ballroom of the One&Only Royal Mirage, with over 100 media representatives as well as social media influencers. Glad to be dressed up and out that evening – particularly in a venue […]
On a hunt for ladies night in the marina or JBR – I found a few options and we decided that we will do Lock Stock and Barrel based on logistical reasons. It would have been my first time to LSB, so I was quite excited. Anything new is always fun. And there is always […]
Aching for a massage as it had been months since we went for one – we started hunting around for an offer online. The husband found one on Groupon – it was 359 AED for 60-minutes – for two people. A bit of googling and we found that the spa – called Oaks Spa – […]
It was nice to return to Gal with the family, after a sneak peak of the venue in an event in the summer. With good weather in Dubai right now, we chose to sit outside in their terrace this time. Do not worry – every spot you choose, you will be overlooking the mammoth structure […]
A very quick review of ladies night at Couqley last week. A fellow mum had recommended the ladies night (credit goes entirely to Michelle – thanks!!) – 99 AED for a meal plus unlimited drinks (for a 3 hour seating). So I dropped the venue an email to book and it was all set – […]
The family brunch at The Address Dubai Marina relaunched mid September this year. There was a little bit of noise made during its comeback, though we did not hear anything from the local community forums or mummy circles. After numerous attempts to reach out to their marketing team (unashamedly as well..haha) – I surrendered and […]
When was the last time you tried an absolutely new cuisine? That will be us, just last week when we went to Zor in The Pointe to review the venue over dinner. Excited, as we had never really tried Uzbek or Russian cuisine in a restaurant before. Always fun to try something new, isn’t it?
Though we have been to the Four Seasons, it would be our first time walking into their gardens, and to dine in Sea Fu. As you would expect from the Four Seasons – their gardens are carefully manicured and every corner appears to have been designed for that picture-perfect snapshot. Add in those fluffy clouds […]
With Dubai being a holiday destination – it also means that resorts tend to make an extra effort with their festive decorations over Christmas. It’s great for us as residents as every visit is magical for the little ones. Here’s a collection of Christmas decorations in various resorts that we have been to this year. […]
With so many markets popping up all over the city, I’ve decided to put one together just for our area – for our own reference, and for anyone else who lives close by too. So here’s all the Christmas markets and Winter Wonderlands happening in Dubai Marina, Dubai Harbour, Bluewaters, Jumeirah Beach Residence and The […]
Last weekend, we drove up to Jumeirah to review the newly opened Turkish restaurant – Huqqabaz. The name is quite familiar by now, isn’t it? With the first branch in Dubai Mall, and the other in MOE which we have just recently visited. How is Huqqabaz like? How does it differ from its other branches?
Last weekend we drove up to the JW Marriott Marquis to meet a few friends for brunch – this time at the Bridgewater Tavern. It would be our first time there, though we have been to numerous other restaurants in the hotel over the years. Backyard Brunch it was called, and supposedly family-friendly too with […]
It was nice to return to Jones the Grocer with the family after having been there a couple of times beforehand. It was the first time trying out their menu properly over dinner and drinks whilst soaking in the golden rays of the sun just before it slid down over the horizon. Ah, I love […]
I had seen snippets of the Huqqabaz Garden on social media and was quite surprised to know that there was an outdoor cafe with a garden in Mall of the Emirates. You didn’t know that as well, did you? Did you know they also have displays of fine art within the venue?
This is a guide that will keep evolving as we explore Expo 2020 with the family. With over 200 pavilions, we will be going back there a lot over the next four months. A piece put together on what to prepare before you go, where to go, where to eat, what to do, what to […]
Nice to return to Folly after a very early ladies night in the summer. This time for the launch of “Souk Madinat’s favourite rooftop terrace” – yes I stole the tagline from the invite. The rooftop is quite dreamy in the evenings, isn’t it? You can’t really get that in any other spot in Dubai […]
And……. it’s winter. Sundowners season, all over again. And where is the best spot on the Palm for that? If you ask me, I will likely tell you – Palm West Beach 😉 Earlier this week, we went over to February 30 at 4pm in the afternoon for an early date to review the newly […]
It was only appropriate to dine in the newly reopened Rang Mahal on Diwali. By chance – honestly, as we had to reschedule the initially booking. I’ll put my hands up here – I am no expert when it comes to indian cuisine. So please take note of this, when you are reading this review […]
2022 Update : The Pangolin is now called The Green Room. To the few who guessed the restaurant was ‘The Elephant’, ‘The Meerkat’ or ‘The Hippo’…. you were either taking the mickey (very funny indeed), or you honestly thought there was an actual restaurant called The Meerkat in Dubai. Imagine if there was! Wouldn’t that […]

Introducing Ula, a new beachside restaurant situated at the very end of Palm West Beach where Dukes the Palm sits. It replaces West 14th – one of the first restaurants we visited many years ago when we were fresh to the Dubai dining scene. I had seen images of Ula online and was quite excited […]
I don’t always do a post on ladies nights but I did feel that this one deserved a little write-up of its own. The Croft first opened its doors in 2015. We used to live right opposite the Marriott, and typically I get quite excited about new F&B openings, particularly when it is so close […]
