We got properly dressed up one Saturday in September, for a much anticipated double date with our dear friends. Sky Brunch at Attiko it was. I had been there just once – months ago, for drinks at sunset – so was excited to see what they had to offer for brunch. We contemplated walking, and unanimously decided to jump into a taxi. I mean really, 7 minutes in 40 degrees and 70% humidity mid-September in Dubai is definitely not part of a ‘nice afternoon out’ plan 😀
Here’s our review, of Sky Brunch at Attiko. Read on.
Where exactly is Attiko?
Attiko sits on the 31st floor of the W Mina Seyahi. There is one elevator that takes you there – so check with the team when you get into the lobby.
If you are driving – yes, they do offer complimentary valet. If you are cycling – yes, you can also park your bicycle out front and they’ll give you a valet card to stamp.

What type of food is served, at Attiko’s Sky Brunch?
Attiko serves Japanese fare – or as they call it, quote “refined Pan-asian menu“.
Food is all served to table – and to be shared. You get the likes of edamame to nibble on (brunch staple, nowadays, isn’t it?) with shrimp tempura.

There’s beef tataki with truffle ponzo, and tuna carpaccio with truffle soy. Spot the similar, fancy ingredient, here? 🙂 I highly recommend you up your chopsticks skills before coming to Sky Brunch at Attiko, haha!
For the vegetarians – there is asian caesar salad (lotus root, yes), cauliflower maki (which we were so sure it was shrimp at first!) as well as cauliflower chili coriander. I wonder if they have a separate vegetarian menu for those who prefer a bit more options?

Don’t worry – there’s more. Wagyu beef slider (which I did not touch, as I was stuffed by then), yuzu kosho chicken as well as chilean seabass. The team were nice to bring more of the latter as we loved it.
Desserts were served in a platter – passion fruit cheese cake, chocolate, mochi ice cream and more.

The vibe
When we were there – they had a DJ on the decks all afternoon. Music is loud – and more so if you picked a table in the main dining area right next to him (no surprise there, right?). We are old and boring, and wanted to talk, so we chose the tables to the corner.
As this is a kid-free brunch, there were a lot of large groups, and a few tables of couples on a brunch date.
People started dancing towards the end – which is always good fun. I would expect the winter season to be buzzing when the terrace is full! The sunset from Attiko is absolutely gorgeous.
