The original post has first appeared on Citispi’s page – here. Please note this was written a few weeks ago – we had dined in the Brasserie 2.0 mid-August. Happy EID to all of you in the UAE, and greetings from down under!
I have a soft spot for the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort. They have a fine selection of restaurants (Rhodes Twenty10’s our favourite!), and is one of many resorts we would recommend for a staycation. During our stay there few summers back, we had breakfast at the then called ‘Brasserie’. So when it was revamped, and launched as ‘Brasserie 2.0’, I made a mental note to myself that we shall return to check it out. Glad that we had the opportunity to do so, as guests of Citispi last Friday.
So how was it?

Ooooo, I’m probably going to step on a few toes for this but I’ll write this anyways. Times like this I wish there were more blogs on ladies nights so we could’ve avoided last night.
So, we were planning to meet up for a ladies night and I got quite frustrated trying to find a venue that had drinks as well as discount on food. Lots of playing around on an app that kept crashing, resorting to browsing through an online guide (Ladies Night and Brunches), then twitter. At the last minute I decided to propose a place I have been to ladies nights twice before (as well as for brunch) and was close to home.
Here’s a few tips to everyone out there who’s planning to go to China Grill for their ladies nights on a Tuesday – which does an admittedly pretty cool deal of free-flow drinks and 50% off a special ala carte menu :

Coya, colourful Coya. Much love and thought has been put into the interior design, and I’ll dare say the same for their food.
Early last week, I met up with blogger friend C from AtoZaatar.com for lunch. I have been to their Members’ Club Lounge early this year, and as we left the venue I had a peek at the rest of the restaurant and thought – this looks pretty, probably very expensive?
Months passed and Coya has been thrown into conversation various times with friends – and let’s just say it’s not been very positive , summarized to “tiny portions” and “very expensive”. So when C mentioned that they do a lunch deal of AED 130 for three dishes (click here, linked directly to Coya’s menu) – I thought, that’s not too bad. At least I know what I’m paying for and would not get a surprise at the end of the meal.

It’s been awhile since we’ve gone to brunch with friends.
Out came the handy Entertainer app and ‘Al Grissino’ popped up. I jumped onto social media to see if anyone else has been and saw this from fellow blogger Foodie with Suitcase , and decided – yep, we’re going. Their website had a few more offers and the Thursday evening brunch deal worked better for everyone’s schedule. More importantly, the restaurant was fine (surprisingly!) with having prams (two, actually!) – so it was a done deal. A 241 brunch, somewhere we’ve never been before, a really pretty-looking bar I want to check out, and supposedly good food = an evening to look forward to 🙂
So, how was it? Is Al Grissino just another pretty looking restaurant with a gorgeous bar in the DIFC? Here are our thoughts of their Thursday evening brunch. Continue reading An Italian evening brunch @ Al Grissino, DIFC
This is one ladies night that a good friend of mine and I have been planning to go for awhile now – Vault, located on the 71st and 72nd floor of the JW Marriott Marquis in Business Bay. G and I have walked through here to ‘have a look’ during our staycation at the Marquis when it first opened its doors back in 2013 (click here to have a read). A little far from home, we never really had an excuse to head back. And then, ladies nights launched🙂
