Last April – we went to Rixos Bab al Bahr with the kids, together with another family. We stayed for two nights, all-inclusive and had such a good time. The great thing about going to an all-inclusive resort is everything’s already covered – food, drinks, and in Rixos’ case – there was so much entertainment and activities for both adults and children alike. It was also really nice to go with another family that had kids the same age as ours, so they could play, while we chat, uninterrupted!
This summer – Rixos Bab al Bahr is having a pretty good offer for families, starting from 799AED++ all inclusive for 2 adults and 2 kids. Now if you’re wondering why you should go – here’s 10 reasons why you should take the family to Rixos Bab al Bahr this summer. Read on!
1. Quick drive from Dubai
Rixos Bab al Bahr is about an hour and 15 minutes drive from the Dubai Marina, and even less if you live in Downtown or Mirdiff. That’s a very quick drive for a family getaway, especially if it’s much cheaper than what you could possibly find in Dubai itself!

2. Spacious Family Rooms
Rixos Bab al Bahr has a variety of rooms for families – starting with Deluxe Rooms at 32m2 and Premium rooms at 43m2, and rates vary depending on the view, be it Garden or Sea View.
These rooms come with a large double bed for mummy and daddy, and a rollaway bed can be provided for 2 kids.
Note : For Summer of 2024 – 2 kids up to 11.99 years old go free, so there will be no charges for the rollaway bed.

You could also look into their ‘Kids Escape’ Family Suite which comes with these incredible bunk beds that the little ones would love. You might struggle to get them out of the room! There’s double bunks, and triple bunks like the one shown here. It’s literally like a mini playhouse! Please excuse my little one in this photo, I cannot remember what was going on when I took this shot!

3. Chilled, Temperature Controlled Family Pools
Rixos has 8 swimming pools – to include a large family pool. Don’t worry, they are all properly temperature-controlled during the summer months to ensure that you can have a cool swim when it’s 40 degree celsius ( or more ) outdoors.
They also do water sports in there – like water polo, as well as aqua cycle, aqua jump and aqua fitmat – so if you want to get busy while hanging around the pool, there’s lots of things going on.

4. Slides at the Kids’ Pool
If you have older kids – they would love the kids’ pool which comes with three slides. The little ones will be whizzing through these for quite a while so remember to smother them with sunscreen as it is not shaded over here.
Tip : There are food trucks next to the pools for snacks during the day.

5. Beautiful Beach & Sea
Rixos has its own private beach, looking out onto the Arabian Gulf. The water is calm, as Al Marjan Island is built in such a way that it becomes a bay – with minimal waves, making it very safe for the kids to swim in.
They do have stand-up paddleboarding sessions early in the morning so remember to book in – you might be lucky and see turtles or dolphins!

6. Shaded Playground and Indoor Kids’ Club
For some chill-time, Rixos does have a nice big shaded playground, right next to its kids’ club which is indoors as well. Not pictured here, is their shaded toddler pool which is within their kids’ club area for the younger ones.
The great thing about the location here is it’s next to Isla Beach Bar – so parents can happily sit around and have a drink, while their kids play. Win-win, right?

7. Indoor Entertainment for Adults & Children
Currently – they have a series of entertainment for Adults and Children.
Every evening, there’s Rixy Kids’ Club’s famous Kids’ Disco at 8:15pm. It’s literally a kids’ dance party which is so much fun for the little ones. If your kids tend to stay up late at night when on holiday – Rixos Bab al Bahr is the perfect spot to bring them to because you know that they will be entertained throughout the day – and night!
There is also live music during dinner time – violinist, cello, and live bands at the Show Center Stage which is situated by their restaurants.
Don’t miss their Moulin Rouge Theme Night show (see below), or Havana and Retro Theme Night Shows. So much going on, right?

Feel free to drop the kids in the Kids’ Club and pop on all over to watch the game, and play some billiards while you’re there.

9. Variety of restaurants to dine at
To keep your tummies happy – Rixos’ all-day dining restaurant Seven Heights does breakfast, lunch and dinner – buffet-style. They also have additional ala carte options for lunch and dinner.
Ala carte options include L’olivo for Italian, Aja for East-Asian, Lalezar for Turkish, Fishbone for Seafood, Meat Point for Steak, and Toast n’ Burger for a casual bite for lunch and dinner.
