Sol Saturdaze Brunch @ Vida Emirates Hills – Pool Access, Included

Are you looking for a chilled family brunch, that wouldn’t break the bank ? Somewhere cosy and comfortable to catch up with family and friends over food and drinks. And possibly a pool to dive into, afterwards. Well – consider Sol Saturdaze Brunch at Vida Emirates Hills.

Here’s all you need to know about Sol Saturdaze Brunch.

Where is Vida Emirates Hills?

It helps when the name of the hotel has the location, isn’t it? You must have seen Vida Emirates Hills at the corner of Emirates Golf Club at some point in your Dubai life – as it is literally the only hotel there, adjacent to The Lakes, and opposite Emirates Hills.

If you’re driving or taking the taxi over – turn right as soon as you get in from this entrance (pictured, below). Don’t be like me and do three whole rounds trying to figure out how to get in. There is a sign that says Paid Parking for 10 AED/hour but if you are there for brunch – you won’t get charged. It is self-parking on ground floor – and the team will direct you where to go. I know what you’re thinking – Self-park?! What is this? That’s me on Saturday, haha. Don’t worry – it’s very close, it’s shaded, so it’s not that bad. Plus when you have to leave – you can go straight to the car instead of waiting around. Stop complaining. I know we are all spoilt in Dubai.

What is Origins like?

Origins is their all-day dining venue, located on podium level. It gives you the feeling of walking into someone’s dining room area ( albeit, a very very very big one ) – with wooden tabletops and a mixture of plush cyan and beige armchairs. The team had prepared a large table for us as we were 4 families with 8 adults and 6 kids – and it was just right.

Outdoors – there’s lots of seating as well and is perfect over the winter season.

What is Sol Saturdaze Brunch’s Spread like?

The spread I would like to say is simple – but, of quality. You getone corner with tex-mex favouritesnachos with chili con carne, cheese sauce, guacamole and next to it –tex mex sombreros and chili cheese nuggets. There’sturkey ham and pineapple pizzas ( hooray ! ), and cheese and onion calzones.

To the corner you’ll find a roast station – with picanha, lamb, chimichurri shrimps ( all I ate all afternoon ), butter herbs marinated chicken and rustic crusty fish fillet. There’s of course the salad and cheese station in the middle.

From the desserts corner – the kids demolished most of the churros, and I personally loved their dulce de leche cheesecake.

We were there for over 3 hours and were quite happy just chatting over food and drinks. It was literally like a cosy get together with friends in someone’s home.

What drinks are included in the House Drinks Package?

Quite impressed as well to see Kirin Ichiban, and Morreti in the beer package. We very rarely get japanese beers at brunches – unless it’s a japanese brunch! You get nice cocktails – pisco sour, classic mimosa, old fashioned and their very own Vida Delight – which is a vodka based cocktail with passionfruit, vanilla and basil.

Pool Access, Included

The best bit of the afternoon is that we can all head over to Vida’s pool for a dip before, or after the brunch. Access is available from 10am onwards in morning onwards – so if you wanted to start off the day with a swim before the brunch starts at 1pm – you could do that too!

Look, it’s not a big pool but there’s pros and cons of having a small pool with kids, right? This one – you can literally sit on the sunbed, and see your kids. All 3 of them. No binoculars, no running around poolside like a madwoman trying to find your little ones. The second thing is – it’s only 1.2m deep, which is shallower than usual (1.5m) – which is again, great for families with kids.

Vida does have a splash pad to the corner which toddlers would love.

Overall Thoughts

When it comes to brunches – there is just so much choices out there, isn’t it. If all you need is a simple spread in a cosy dining area – give Sol Saturdaze Brunch a go. It’s well-priced, at 220 AED for Soft, and 350 AED for House. The pool access after is just a added bonus. We stayed on until sunset. A day well-spent with family and friends.
