When was the last time you went to Garden on 8? I could hardly recognise the place when we drove over last weekend. It’s been awhile. The tent was still up ( thankfully ) – and we were there to review their Big Sunday Lazy Breakfast offer. Didn’t know they served breakfast, did you? 🙂
Here’s your next Sunday go-to spot if you’re feeling like a proper English Breakfast, with a cheeky pint (or five).
An Introduction to Garden on 8
As we stepped into Media One’s lift, all dark with LED lights – the kids got all excited. Mummy, we’re going up into space!
The lift doors opened up to the 8th floor and it was like walking back in memory lane. The first ever hotel that we stayed in back in 2012. Much has changed, and of course for the better. I had no idea that Garden on 8 had basically absorbed their all day dining restaurant and now occupies both indoor as well as the outdoor space.

We found our way through the venue to the tent area where my brother’s family was sat. The stench of cigarettes from the night before was still looming in the air, and well – to their defense, we could have moved indoors but we decided to stay put as it was brighter and just a nicer space. Take note that the tent goes away in the winter season so you get to experience a proper alfresco dining.

Let’s talk about the Sunday Lazy Breakfast Menu.
Every Sunday – Garden on 8 opens earlier at 11am, and does a special breakfast offer called the Big Sunday Lazy Breakfast. There are 5 items on this menu, as well as assorted pastries. Just get ’em all!
Between all of us, we did end up ordering everything onboard.
The Full English Breakfast came with *drumroll*….. real bacon, real sausages. Yes, Garden on 8 serves pork. Surprise, surprise! The kids devoured most of the sausages, and between all of us I think we did pretty well in cleaning up the plates. Two options with eggs – sunny side up or fried. Don’t get too fancy and ask for scrambled as they don’t do that. Don’t ask me why. That’s usually the end product of all my eggs when I’m trying to do a beautiful sunny side up.

There’s The Fully Monty Omelette which is either with ham, or vegetarian. Note that beef ham is available if prefer the halal version. There’s also Bacon, Sausages and Egg Bap, as well as a good ol’ Avo Mash with, or without an egg.
My favourite (and my kids’, as well) – Fried Chicken & Waffles drizzled with honey. Absolutely delicious.

And now, the Important Bits.
How much is the Big Sunday Lazy Breakfast offer?
There are two packages.
120 AED for unlimited breakfast dishes including coffee, tea, fresh juices and soft drinks.
199 AED for the above, plus free-flow Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, Screwdriver, Conte Fosco Cuvee Brut, Heineken and Budweiser Bottles.
Are there any offers applicable with this?
Yes – both packages are in the Entertainer and it’s Buy 1 get 1 free.
That’s 60 AED for unlimited breakfast for 2 hours, including coffee & tea. Not too bad hey?
Is water included?
Surprisingly – yes! Still or Sparkling Water.
Is Garden on 8 family-friendly?
Garden on 8 is a pub. I probably wouldn’t bring the kids there in the evenings especially when smoking is allowed within the tent area. It will probably better in the winter season when it’s outdoors. Note that the indoor area is smoke-free.
As for breakfast – it’s fair game. There’s a lot of space for them to run around if they get restless. Bring your own toys and colouring books.
What is the price for kids, for the Big Sunday Lazy Breakfast?
60 AED for Kids ages 6-12 for the same package above.
