4 Reasons to take the Family to Jones the Grocer Emirates Golf Club

I remember meeting a dear friend at Jones in Emirates Golf Club for a playdate back in 2018. It has been almost 7 years since and that place is still as busy as ever. In the mornings you’ll find keen golfers popping in for a bite pre or post game, mums gathering for a coffee after school drop off, and then there’s those cool work-from-home people who make Jones’ their office.

Here’s 4 Reasons Why You Should Take the Family to Jones in Emirates Golf Club – and it’s not just the mornings. It’s all day long…..

1. Bright Indoor Seating, with Family Booths

Jones’ gets a lot of natural sunlight in the daytime – so the indoor area is lit up bright. Perfect spot to start the day. It’s buzzing from 7am ( yes – they open early ! ) – so if you’re on the lookout for a cafe to work from home, this is it.

Take the kids over for breakfast, or after school for an early dinner. They are open all day long so you can pop in at 4pm if you wish. There’s family booths in front of the open kitchen, as well as various seating types for groups and lots of space for prams too.

If you’re there with friends and prefer bar tables – they have that as well. Good spot for a business meeting, I’ll say.

2. Outdoor Seating with Gorgeous Views, and Space for Kids

In the winter time, pick a spot outdoors if you prefer to dine alfresco – as Jones’ is right next to the manicured lawns of Emirates Golf Club. There’s ample space for the little ones to run around if they get restless. Keep an eye out though – and make sure they don’t end up running onto the actual golf course!

3. Affordable Daily Offers + It’s Licensed!

Don’t worry – Jones’ do have offers almost every day of the week.

Pasta & Wine Wednesdays

On Wednesdays, you get one pasta and two glasses of house wine for 99 AED from 6pm. We were there with friends quite recently and it’s such an easy and fabulous deal, especially when you just want to catch up in a casual, fuss-free spot. It’s quiet, service is prompt and most importantly, Jones’ do really good pasta.

There four choices – and my absolute favourite is their beef ragu and pappardelle. Note that this dish is 90 AED if you’re going Ala Carte, so you’re basically paying an extra 9 AED for two glasses of wine. The slow braised pulled beef was rich and savoury, tossed with tomato ragu giving just the right amount of tanginess. My 9-year old loves this as well.

Other than that, there’s chilli and garlic linguine, prawn rigatoni rose, and truffle and mushroom linguine.

Steak Frites Thursdays

On Thursdays, you get grilled Aussie steak, served with sauce, rocket salad and unlimited fries for 99 AED. Upgrade for a dessert for 199 per couple. It’s a no-brainer right? You’re basically paying 50 cents more per person for a dessert!

This is offer is available every Thursday from 6pm.

Pizza & Pint Saturdays

Come weekends, if you’re not so keen on all the big brunches around and just want to have a pizza and a couple of beers, Jones’ is here for you. Available from 6pm onwards for two hours – you get one pizza and free-flow bottled beer from 149 AED.

Prefer draught instead? It’ll cost 249 AED.

Jones’ make everything in-house, and you are more than welcome to watch the team prep your meals in the open kitchen. Go basic – with a Margherita pizza, or Shrimped Up with king prawns and chilli. There’s the Italian Stallion with wagyu green peppercorn salami, Sultan of Zing – a unique Jones’ original with sujuk, zhoug and zaatar. If you’re a truffle fan – go get the Truffle Shuffle – served with creamy truffle sauce, portobello, oyster and button mushrooms – perfect for vegetarians.

Sunday Roast

What’s the usual Sunday favourite? A simple and good Sunday Roast.

Prices start from 119 AED and onwards – from Roast Chicken, Tender Beef Striploin and yes – Jones’ do serve pork.

4. Location – Right in the Heart of Emirates Living

Lucky for Jones – its situated in Emirates Golf Club right in the heart of Emirates Living. That means next to all of you in your nice villas in the Lakes, Springs, Meadow and Emirates Hills. The Greens borders the far end of the Golf Club, plus it’s just across from us in Dubai Marina and JBR.

For those taking the metro – get off at Al Khail Metro Station, now called Al Fardan Exchange. The entrance to Emirates Golf Club is a very short stroll away, and a longer sprint to the Clubhouse where Jones is located. Mind you – the Metro Station name changes every couple of years so you better check what the current one is.

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
