Early October, we had the opportunity to review the Turkey Takeaway offering from Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites. We got the kids and ourselves dressed up in festive attire – all red and green, christmas hats and all – and walked across the road to my brother’s place. I remember standing in the lift in his building and the guy just went ” Celebrating Christmas, already ? ” We just laughed it away and went, ” Yes of course, it’s Christmas everyday! “

The Turkey & all its sides

After the shoot for their marketing video – which to be honest was so much fun doing, we said our goodbyes to the Marriott team and dug in.

First Impressions? The whole roasted turkey is humongous. We were just looking at this big turkey sitting on the table and wondering – how are we going to finish this today, haha! Just for context – we were two families, so 4 adults and 4 kids. As advertised – the turkey takeaway would feed 5-6 people, and I would say yes – 6 to possibly 8 adults, and you would very likely have a lot of turkey leftover.

The meat itself was super tender and juicy. There were six sides that came with it – roasted potatoes, sauteed green beans (which my little boy absolutely loved), brussel sprouts, roasted carrots and turnips, chestnuts and of course, chipolata – the halal version. The chestnuts were rich and nutty, and slightly sweet. Absolutely delicious! Let’s not forget the cranberry sauce for that added sweetness and mild tanginess, as well as a savoury turkey gravy to go with it all !

To highlight – the team had also added bread rolls, and christmas crackers – much to the kids’ delight. It was an absolute feast.

If you’re planning a get-together at home this festive season – don’t stress it. Just order a Turkey Takeaway from Marriott Harbour – and especially if you live in this area in Dubai Marina. I mean really – why stress yourself driving half the world away and getting stuck in traffic when this hotel across the road from you has it all sorted? You just need to get some desserts from elsewhere but that’s it! All you do is transfer the dishes onto a beautiful plate and voila – Festive Dinner, sorted!

Little tip though : The box is quite heavy, so you might need some help carrying it home. Or, bring the pram – that thing is not just for carrying babies, I’m sure you have realised!
