April 2026 : Please note that Siddharta Lounge is now permanently closed. See Best Friday Evening Brunches in Dubai for other options.
We walked across the bridge, towards Grosvenor House last Friday, for a date night. It was after all – Siddharta Lounge – a venue that we were very familiar with – but still somehow manages to wow you, after all these years. As the lift opens up, you first see the pool – all lit up blue with the night lights within, and to the right, a bar counter with a few people having drinks. It’s chilled, but romantic. It’s nice. And guess what? Every Friday, they have a Friday evening brunch offer – which I actually thought was a pretty good one, especially if you like a few extra drinks, and don’t want to stress about the ‘final bill’. I mean really – that’s why brunches are there isn’t it. You know what the damage will be so there are no surprises.
Does this sound like something you will be keen on? Read on.
In case you have never been there…. ( aw come on!.. )
Where is Siddharta Lounge?
Siddharta Lounge is located on the podium rooftop level, of Grosvenor House’s Tower Two. If you’re walking over (hello, neighbour!) and you’re looking back at the two towers from the marina promenade – it’s the one on your right. If you’re driving over or taking the taxi, it’s the one on your left. And yes, they do offer complimentary valet if you did decide to take your car (and not drink…… yes, I’m looking at you!)

What’s the venue like?
Its location at the corner also means views from all sides. On one end, you’re sitting by the pool, looking out at the Dubai Marina.

On the other end, you can watch the sun set, and the lights go up on all the many buildings by JBR, Dubai Harbour and the Palm Jumeirah beyond. You also get a sneaky little bit of the Ain Dubai in between the adjacent hotel towers. Like a really sneaky little bit (see photo below)

Is there an indoor section?
Of course there is. And over the winter season they’ve opened up the doors completely on either ends – so you can still get the ‘alfresco vibe’, but be sat under a roof.

What’s on the menu for the Friday Evening Brunch?
Everything on the brunch menu is brought to the table – and you do actually get all food items. You don’t even have to use any bit of your brain muscle to make a choice. It’s Friday night right? Time to relax! 🙂
Starters include tuna tartare tossed with avocada, siracha sauce – and bread on the side. There was endive salad – with green apple and blue cheese (to our horror, hahaha…) and pecan nuts. Surprisingly, the salad turned out pretty decent. Maybe our standards are (very) slow rising, and we’re becoming the posh lot who enjoys a little bit blue cheese, once in awhile, ay?

There was of course, creamy burrata with tomatoes. It’s always interesting to see how every venue does their spin on burrata and I love that they’ve used figs in this one, for the added sweetness and texture.
Shrimp tempura is always a winner for all. If the kids were here, they would probably take them all.

In between all that, I was (very happily) sipping on sparkling wine and just enjoying a quiet dinner date with the husband.
Note that there are two cocktails included – boho bliss martini (vodka-based), and a bohemian fizz (gin-based). I always enjoy popping up to to the bar to have a chat with the bartender, and watch them do their magic with these drinks. For those who like their spirits – don’t worry – you can always ask for other vodka, gin, rum and whiskey-based drinks.
What about mains?
I am certain the portions for the mains was meant to be for a group of at least 4 people sharing. We were so stuffed, as we nibbled on braised wagyu short ribs, and a little bit of the soy glazed salmon. The spicy aubergine was my favourite. I’m no vegetarian but I always find it interesting that I end up really enjoying vegetarian options at restaurants, mainly because we don’t usually cook these dishes at home. Something different.

Any desserts for the brunch?
How can you leave a dinner date without something sweet? We were both falling off the table by then (not from the drinks, excuse me, but from the food) – so couldn’t appreciate the desserts as much as we hoped we would. My tip? Come with a bigger group – so you can all share the food together and nothing goes to waste! Alternatively – let the team know to prepare a smaller portion for your date 😉

Overall Thoughts
It’s amazing how well Siddharta Lounge is doing, although they have been in the Dubai Marina for the longest time. Have a peek at our date night back in 2017, when Siddharta Lounge had its first revamp. From our dinner date, there’s a reason why it’s still a popular spot amongst many – to include the neighbourhood locals, as well as international guests. Keep it up guys.
Psst. Did you know they also do a ladies night offer every Thursday?
