It’s been a long while since we have been to the Observatory at Marriott Harbour. Did you know that they have revamped the entire 52nd floor, and it’s now two parts – one remains Observatory Lounge, and the other – a steakhouse, Prime 52? Observatory has launched a new ladies night offer and we walked over to check it out. I could get in a taxi but that will just be dumb, haha….

In case you don’t know where Observatory is….

It’s located on the 52nd floor of Dubai Marriott Harbour & Suites, at what I now call the ‘Harbour End’ of Dubai Marina. It’s that hotel next to Emirates Crown, with Marina Gate across the road on one side, and Damac Heights on the either. If you live in this area – I am very sure you know of it, or at least have seen the building.

What’s Observatory Lounge like, now?

With a brand new bar counter running across the length of the lounge, and seating next to the windows – you still get (thankfully) glorious views of Dubai Harbour and the Palm Jumeirah. Come earlier for sunset as it’s the perfect spot for it.

From my vague memories of Observatory – it looks like they’ve completely revamped the entire space. The flooring, the furniture, and even the ceiling has changed. The entrance is brighter and much more welcoming, and of course – modern. It’s a good change.

When is Observatory’s Ladies Night?

Every Tuesday, from 7pm to 1am. Yep – you got that right – it finishes at 1am.

What’s on Observatory’s Ladies Night Offer?

They have three packages :

• Complimentary – includes free-flow wine by the bar, standing-only
• 52 AED – includes free-flow wine and three bites

Let’s just say you don’t get complimentary drinks in Dubai anymore so for Observatory to offer this option – is awesome 🙂

Let’s talk about our evening.

So we had no expectations. I’ve been to my fair share of ladies nights here in Dubai, including many a time at Observatory. We ordered some cocktails and were fairly impressed these were properly put together and…. strong. You got to get their espresso martini. And their porn star martini. And their frozen strawberry daiquiri. Scrap that – just order everything on the menu, haha.

The food platter came shortly after – sushi, corn on the cob, dumplings and baos. It was decent, and great as a light bar snack to share over a few drinks. Take note if you chose the 198 AED package* – the food platter is unlimited – so feel free to reorder when you’re done!

Around 8pm came the entertainment. A man on a saxophone and dancers. It was quite a scene. The guy was properly working the saxophone, and the beautiful dancers definitely put on a show.

There was also a magician roaming around doing card tricks, from table to table.

A few tables had birthdays so the team came out with boards and shots. Ah, it was a spectacle.

We didn’t stay late, as we are all lightweights – plus kids, work, school runs and life in general. The usual, y’know? Did we have fun though? 100%. We took the lift back down, and had a leisurely stroll home. Isn’t it nice – to have such a fab option, so close to home?

Overall Thoughts

If you’re looking for a fun ladies night on a Tuesday – with amazing cocktails, beautiful views – check out Cosma at Observatory Lounge Dubai. You can still have a decent conversation (before the saxophonist comes out…), so yes – it is a nice catch up spot too. I can only imagine it becomes super fun as the night goes on. Free flow drinks from 7pm to 1am – that’s just, crazy right? 🙂 Gather the ladies for a fun night out in the neighbourhood!
