Jones the Grocer in JBR have created a new menu just for mums. How sweet of them, right? I took my mum over to review the new menu mid-April.

Here’s what to expect – and where to go, if you’re up super early on a weekday!

Which Jones the Grocer is doing this Mom’s Breakfast Offer?

The Jones in Delta Hotels by Marriott Jumeirah Beach – located on LP level, or otherwise known to residents as ‘Plaza’ level in Bahar 7. It’s right opposite Jebel Ali Village Nursery JBR as well as the Bahar Community Gym.

What’s on the Breakfast Menu?

There are 5 options – which to be mentioned is also available in the main Ala Carte Menu. What they’ve done is chosen the best sellers and put it together for us, with a special price of 65 AED, to include 1 coffee or tea. It’s an absolute deal, as I had a peek at the main menu and these dishes are typically around 65 AED by itself, and as we all know – coffee and tea is circa 25-30 AED.

The catch? It’s just for mums, and only available on Weekdays between 7am to 9am. Just for us 🙂

Let’s talk about the Breakfast Items.

I love it when restaurants come up with unique menu items – to make them just a little different from the others.

There are three savouries to choose from :

The Benny

This is Jones’ version of the classic Eggs Benedict. What they’ve done is put the usual poached eggs with smoked beef bacon and hollandaise sauce on a New York Croissant Roll, instead of the usual toasted English Muffin. If you don’t know what a Croissant Roll is – don’t worry – I didn’t either until this morning. It’s basically Croissant Dough made into a circular form – and much like a croissant, is light and crunchy ( does it mean, less calories? ). They added crispy onions and chives, giving it a slight asian touch to the overall dish.

Jones Avocado Toast

Next up – is Jones’ Avocado Toast, topped with pickled cucumber and cherry tomatoes on miso sourdough toast. The toast was slightly charred giving it a barbeque taste – love it. And to the side, whipped labneh (with cream cheese), and zhoug – a classic Yemeni sauce made out of cilantro, garlic, chilli peppers, spices and olive oil.

Sambal Scramble

Our favourite dish would be the sambal scramble. Thank you very much for using a South East Asian condiment in one of your breakfast dishes, Jones! Eggs, scrambled with sambal and drizzled with chilli-infused honey. Don’t worry – it is not spicy at all, but if you would like to notch it up – just let them know!

There are two sweets to choose from :

Blueberry Hotcakes

When the team took to the table I was just looking at the hotcakes doused with blueberry sauce thinking – argh, it’s going to be so sweet. Surprisingly – it was not. As we all know Jones makes all their sauces and condiments – and it’s the same with the blueberry compote. It had that slight hint of tanginess with the sweetness. That white dollop on top is not ice cream – it is mascarpone cheese. Mum and I demolished it all.

Coconut Granola

Lastly – a vegan and dairy-free option, coconut granola. That’s coconut yoghurt with all the berries, banana and mango sudachi compote – a plate of sunshine, for a perfect start of the day.

Can you bring pets to Jones the Grocer JBR?

Pets are welcomed at Jones’ outdoor terrace. So feel free to bring them along with you.

Overall Thoughts

It’s lovely that Jones’ have come up with an affordable breakfast menu just for mums. If you’re dropping your little ones at nursery closeby, or you’re looking for somewhere to have a bite after an early morning gym session – head over to Jones the Grocer.
