Waldorf Astoria at the Palm Jumeirah has introduced a Spa and Pearl Club Escape package. It’s one to look into, if you are looking like a peaceful getaway – with, or without kids. It’s completely up to you 🙂

Check-in to a Pearl Club Suite

With this package – you can book one of the Pearl Club Rooms or Suites.

These rooms, are either facing the sea which looks back over to the Dubai Marina Skyline as well as the Palm. The ones on the other side looks over to the Burj Al Arab and Downtown skyline. Honestly, either views are beautiful.

Here’s a peek of the Pearl Club One Bedroom Suite with Sea View.

At 115 m² – it’s super spacious with a king size bed and an ensuite with – what I’ll say a humongous shower room. Seriously – if you had 3 kids, all of you could take a shower altogether. Not that you would want to – but you get what I mean 🙂

The bathtub is conveniently located in the middle (see photos below), which again could fit three young kids. Or….. just you. Just you, warm water, and bubbles….. some jazz music, and a glass of wine, maybe? 🙂

For those wondering how this room can fit 4 people – you can request for two extra single beds which will fit in the living room. No extra charges.

Afternoon Tea at Pearl Club

The perks of booking a Pearl Club room is of course – unlimited access to the Pearl Club itself.

After check-in, head up to the 5th floor for Afternoon Tea. This happens between 3-5pm every day. You’ll find a generous spread of cakes, finger sandwiches and scones. It’s basically like having afternoon tea at Peacock Alley, except you get to eat as much as you want (not that I’m suggesting you pig out….. but you get what I mean 😉 )

Rest and Relax by Waldorf’s Pool and Beach

Pop over to the pool for a swim after.

Don’t forget that Waldorf does have an adults-only pool if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. If you’re lucky you might get the jacuzzi all to yourself.

There’s also Sunset 55, next to the adults-only pool which is a perfect spot for sundowners. Beanbags, swings, feet in sand, cocktail in hand.

Alternatively, you can just head back to Pearl Club for evening cocktails which happens between 5-8pm. There will also be a canapes buffet between 6-8pm – and that really is, dinner sorted, without having to spend a single extra cent 🙂

Breakfast at Pearl Club

Next morning – you can again, retreat back to the Pearl Club for breakfast, which starts at 8am. No need to join the buffet breakfast rush in their all-day dining. At Pearl Club, it’s all about relaxing and getting served.

They do have a breakfast menu where you can order your eggs – poached, fried, scrambled. Highly recommend the Pearl Club Benedict – served with a special croissant base (something different, right?) topped with turkey ham and of course, hollandaise sauce.

You can sit indoors, or pick a spot in their outdoor terrace which does have a pretty spectacular view in the morning. If eggs don’t fill you, go ahead and order some sweets (like I did). French toast, waffles, pancakes – you name it, they got it. Freshly made and served to table.

Psssst. Do keep an eye out for the naughty birds though if you are heading back in to get some extra pastries!

Treatment at Waldorf Spa

Now – the highlight of this staycation package is of course – a visit to Waldorf Spa. You get an extra 30 minutes, when booking a 60-minutes spa treatment. What does 90-minutes of relaxation sound like? Bliss, right ? 🙂

Head over earlier, so you can use Waldorf’s facilities before the actual treatment. Relaxation showers, heated jacuzzis, steam and sauna rooms – all for you to use. It’s fairly quiet in the mornings so if you are lucky – you might get it all to yourself.

If you have a sore back (and neck…shoulders, and basically every other body part) – I highly recommend you book their award-winning deep tissue massage. It all starts with a warm feet scrub before you proceed onto their massage beds. Just close your eyes and let them do the de-stress afterwards.

A Relaxing Getaway at Waldorf

And that, is what the Spa and Pearl Club Escape would be like. How does that sound?

Just to reiterate, Waldorf is very much a kid-friendly hotel. But – it does have it’s options for those who would like to escape for some rest and relaxation.
