It’s been awhile since we’ve gone to a circus show here in Dubai. A new show – by Cirque Du Liban called Pluma was launching by Dubai Festival City Mall and we took the kids, up Sheikh Zayed Road for their premiere.
What a fun evening it turned out to be – not only for us parents, but for all three little kids as well.
A little Background
You might be a little familiar with Fontana – the circus show that was playing at Festival Bay just last year.
Well well – this is by the same team, the first traveling water circus in the Middle East – Hat Entertainment who have collaborated with Cirque Du Liban to put together yet another extraordinary show titled “PLUMA”.
As described by the team :
“PLUMA” is not just a circus show. It’s a mesmerizing experience that combines acrobatics, 3D projection mapping, and stunning visual effects. The show introduces you to the captivating story of Pluma, a young girl with dreams of flight. Transported to an ethereal realm filled with magic, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, encountering otherworldly beings who share the ancient secrets of flight. As she delves deeper into this enchanting universe, she discovers her potential and sprouts metaphorical and literal wings, nurturing newfound faith in her abilities.

Our Thoughts
We brought all three kids with us – ages 3, 5 and 7. They were all properly mesmerized, watching the acrobatics, the comedy, the drama.
There were scenes that looked like inspirations from Avatar (swinging vines, neon lights) to Black Panther (jungle backdrops). I absolutely loved the effort that was put into the make-up and wardrobe. Stunning light and visual effects as well, to complement and enhance the team’s acrobatic talent.
The comedy skits in between the acts was very well-done, credits to the clowns 🙂 We had a lot of proper laugh-out-loud moments, as they managed to persuade guests to go on stage for silly antics 🙂
