I should have gone to Luigia when they first opened up in JBR. Kids play area, authentic Italian food, close to home – ticks all the boxes, right? 🙂 After their back to school event in September recently (which was so much fun, by the way) – we returned with the family to review the venue over lunch.
Here are 5 reasons why you should bring your family to Luigia.
1. Right in the heart of JBR
Luigia is situated on the ground floor level of Rixos Premium in Jumeirah Beach Residence – right in the middle of the very busy JBR stretch.
As you step in, it is the first restaurant on the right hand side – you won’t miss the bright red entrance.
There is complimentary valet with the hotel, with a minimum spend of 250 AED.
Being in the heart of JBR means it’s a perfect spot to start your afternoon at, before going over The Beach or The Walk for a wander with the little ones.
2. Authentic, delicious Italian food.
I’ll reiterate here that I am not Italian, and am no expert in Italian cuisine. But, I have heard so many Italian friends rave about this place. Workmates, friends, mums from the neighbourhood. On that note – I am happy to say – if the Italians think it’s good – it gotta be authentic, right? 🙂
It’s really a combination of everything – the pizza dough – the slightly charred bits, the crispiness, the cheese itself, how it falls apart when you pick it up as it’s so fresh but so delicious when it goes into your mouth. We, as the with kids loved it all – the pizza, the pasta, and the salad.

3. Licensed, too.
Always a plus, when a venue is licensed, right? Can’t have Italian without a glass of wine. Or prosesco 🙂
4. Comfortable and family friendly.
Luigia is spacious – with cosy round booths which suits families perfectly, or large groups. We picked the tables closer to the play area.
It’s nice that they have seating to suit different groups of people – high tables, booths, long tables.
They have their bathrooms inhouse, which definitely is a plus for families with young children.
5. Indoor Play Area
Of course – what every family looks for – a little indoor play room. Foosball table, little arcade machines, playhouses and further in you’ll find a cinema playing cartoons.
Overall Thoughts
Having a play room is just a bonus for Luigia. The fact that they do serve authentic Italian fare is definitely their strengths – evident from the many Italian families that were present the same day we were there. They do have Italian staff as well – so it was pretty cool sitting there listening to them chat in the own language. A little Italian experience in the heart of JBR 🙂 We will definitely back for more good food!
