Spa-cation at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai : Afternoon Tea, Included!

Get pampered, at The Ritz-Carlton Spa

As with all spa treatments, always allow extra time before the massage. The Ritz-Carlton Spa has its own separate facilities – plunge pool, steam and sauna room.

They also have an outdoor adults-only spa pool, which is mixed-use so if you are there with your other half – you can sneak in a quick swim before the treatment!

Couples’ Massage at The Ritz-Carlton Spa

Husband and I proceeded to the couples room for our massage. It would be the first – to see an in-built holder with a lovely rose, that you can stare into, while you are laying face-down for your treatment. I wonder if the Ritz-Carlton got that specially made? Their massage beds are also heated – making it super comfy.

As part of the spa-cation, you get a 60-minute massage. You can choose which type of massage you would like from their spa menu – which varies from relaxation to deep muscle. Note that their standard prices are typically 650 AED to 700 AED for a 60-minute massage. I chose deep muscle, of course. As much pressure as you can, please! 🙂

My therapist seemed very knowledgeable of the pressure points and lymph nodes. We both drifted off into silence for the next 60-minutes, enjoying getting kneaded, pressed and stretched by our therapists. The best bit was when the treatment was over, the massage beds can be reclined upwards – so you don’t even have to sit up by yourself. So good 😉

We were escorted shortly after, to their relaxation room, which was mixed-use. Some green tea and yoghurt after, we proceeded to get changed for Part 2 of the day.

Afternoon Tea at The Lobby Lounge

The Lobby Lounge is on ‘Level 3’ – so make sure you head that way after your treatment.

High ceilings, enormous chandeliers hanging below pitched wooden roof – it gave a feeling of a classic English dining hall.

We sat indoors as we were there early October – it was still quite warm outside. It would be lovely outside in the winter, as it overlooks the pool and beach area.

We feasted on an assortment of finger sandwiches to start. Love the curried egg and remoulade in mini brioche. The prawn cocktail in beetroot basket was different, and delicious. We had 2 scones each, and by then we were both stuffed. We ended up asking for the sweets to be packed away ( which I can tell you….. our kids demolished very quickly! ).

Don’t forget that you also get access to the pool and beach with the spa-cation offer. You can use this before or after the treatment – so plan your day accordingly.

Overall Thoughts

The spa-cation offer is quite well-priced. For those of you who likes numbers, note that a 60-minute massage is typically 650 AED, afternoon tea, 215 AED per person, and pool and beach – 295 AED weekdays, partly redeemable in F&B. This makes 650 AED weekdays, 750 AED weekends, and absolute bargain.

Book a day at The Ritz-Carlton – do the spa-cation. You can always bring the kids to join you after, and make it a family day 🙂
