A Royal Afternoon Tea @ Bluthner Hall, Raffles the Palm Dubai

Bluthner Hall in Raffles the Palm reminds me of the grand halls in fairytale castles. If you cleared the furniture, this is where you will find Beauty and the Beast doing their final dance. It’s where you’ll be forgiven if you put on the nicest cocktail dress, just to have a cup of tea with your girlfriends. It’s so opulent, so beautiful. And so appropriate that they’ve called their afternoon tea, the ‘Royal Afternoon Tea’ 😉

A little Introduction

We drove down the West Crescent of the Palm Jumeirah end of February when my parents were here. My mum, much like me, absolutely adores afternoon tea dates. We’ve been to our fair share of afternoon teas in Dubai, which you may browse – here.

We brought the little ones along this time, and the team had allocated one of the larger couches for us in the middle of Bluthner Hall. Red velvet seats, gold cushions. It’s all very proper, very grand.

My girls were dressed up in their little princess dresses, because, why not? 🙂

The Afternoon Tea Set

With the Royal Afternoon tea, you get unlimited coffee and tea. Alternatively, you can go for hot chocolate with marshmallow as well. Soft beverages is also included. Note : Water, is not.

The afternoon tea set itself, was simple – 5 sweets, 6 savouries and 2 scones, per stand. Each little item delicately prepared by the team.

There’s raspberry swiss roll, meringue with yuzu cream and jelly amongst others.

For savouries, there’s the ultimate afternoon tea classic english cucumber sandwich. There’s also prawn avocado with osteria caviar (because you have to – it’s a Royal afternoon tea afterall), and of course foie gras mousse profiterole.

See the Bluthner Hall Afternoon Tea menu here.

Our Thoughts

My parents (particularly, my mum) absolutely loved Bluthner Hall for the decor and the overall ambience. I’m with her on that 😉

The team present were well-trained, attentive and polite as well.

I would say – do the Royal Afternoon Tea if you are looking for a really grand spot for the afternoon. It is pricey at 220 AED – bear in mind that you are paying more so for the quality, and not the quantity. And most of all, it’s the overall vibe – which Raffles does best, at Bluthner Hall 😉
