When was the last time you went to Boardwalk? It has been many many years, for us – lazy marina people. Did you know that Boardwalk offers a pizza-making activity for kids? I didn’t! We drove up to Dubai Creek Resort with the family one September weekend, to review their pizza-making activity, together with lunch with the little people.
Glad to see any form of entertainment for kids during meal-time, isn’t it?
First things first.
Where is Boardwalk?
Boardwalk is situated in Dubai Creek Resort, which sits alongside Park Hyatt Dubai. There is no valet, however there is easy self-parking a few steps away from the entrance.
If you are going there mid-summer, suggest you drop the littles and one of the adults off first.
Pizza-making at Boardwalk?
Yes!
Ask the staff when you are there about it – and they will happily prepare it for you.
You get a pizza dough (ours was shaped as a bear when we went), and ingredients – to your liking. We asked for mushrooms, pineapple, tomato paste and of course, lots of cheese! The kids also get a really cute Boardwalk chef’s hat to use when they are doing it and you are welcome to keep it as a souvenir after.
The staff then take it away to cook it, and bring it back to you in a pizza box. So don’t stress if they cannot finish it – you are more than welcome to bring it home and have it for dinner or supper!

How was lunch at Boardwalk?
Boardwalk was fairly busy, for a 2pm lazy Sunday afternoon. There were couples, families and groups of adults – a mixed crowd.
We ordered starters to share, and a main each. Absolutely loved my grilled lamb chops (170AED) – served with green peas, mint and baby beetroot. The dads had the black angus rib eye – and for 300grams, it was priced well at 240AED (note that mains are in the Entertainer)!
Boardwalk is fully licensed, so feel free to get a drink or two while the little ones are kept busy with lunch and pizza making.

Do they also have a kids menu at Boardwalk?
If your little ones are not a fan of pizzas – do not fret – they do have a extensive kids menu to offer. There’s tomato mozzarella salad, to sausage and mash, to the usual favourites like fish and chips, chicken nuggets, pasta and beef burger.

Overall Thoughts
I can see why Boardwalk has remained a favourite to many over the years. It’s a nice, chilled spot to be in the weekend. There’s no loud music blaring in the background. It’s somewhere you go to catch up with friends and family and can have a nice conversation over good food. It definitely is a plus that they have pizza making for the kids – which helps keep them entertained for a little while!
PS – Their indoor area can accomodate up to around 50 pax. With special arrangements – they could do 85. A possible spot for an intimate gathering – birthdays and anniversaries 😉
