SereniTea @ The Four Seasons Resort Dubai : Where Wellness meets Tea

Four Seasons Resort Dubai has introduced a new wellness offer, called ‘SereniTea’. Wouldn’t be too hard to guess what you get from the name right? We drove up to the Four Seasons one weekend in August to review the offer.

Here’s our experience of SereniTea.

Getting to The Pearl Spa

The Pearl Spa and Wellness is located on the pool and beach level. Walk down the grand staircase as you enter the Four Seasons and turn left, it’s right at the end of the hallway.

If this is your first time to the Four Seasons, allow some extra time to appreciate the grandeur and opulence of the lobby itself. You will pause for photos – maybe one, maybe five. Your husband will get annoyed at you as you check the images and realise it’s ‘not good enough’. So allow time for that, as well as an extra hour at least to use the facilities of The Pearl Spa.

Indoor Pool & Spa Facilities

The Pearl Spa has a indoor pool, with a beautiful glass dome roof. This allows natural light over the lap pool, whilst maintaining a cool and comfortable temperature within.

As always, we should have arrived much, much earlier. The pool is mixed-use, and we both managed to do a quick few laps in here before heading back to our separate spa areas.

They do have a jacuzzi, steam room, ice fountain, an an environment-themed shower experience. It was just me, when we were there on a Sunday mid-August – I could have easily spent an extra half an hour in here. Ah, another time… another time.

The Treatment

As part of Sereni-tea, you have a 90-minute ‘The Pearl Spa Signature Massage.’

Yes, you heard me right – a 90-minutes massage. My husband actually fell asleep halfway through. I don’t know how anyone falls asleep when they are being kneaded, massaged, and stretched.

What I saw different at The Pearl Spa? Their massage beds are so comfortable. Firm, yet soft. Warm, yet cool. I probably lost you there.

They did the ‘bowl of flowers’ thing under the massage bed, which I do appreciate (and need to remind other spas to do the same). The room was dim, the music – soothing. The massage – I approve of.

The ‘relaxation room’ however – I felt could do with a bit of a spruce. Maybe it was the lack of space, or the overall ambience.

Afternoon Tea at Shai Salon

We got dressed, and walked back up to Shai Salon for the second part of SereniTea – the Afternoon Tea.

Shai Salon is such a beautiful lounge, occupying part of the lobby area of the Four Seasons. They have ample indoor seating, with its navy blue and mustard carpet, crystal chandelier above. Their whiteware takes after the same colour and pattern – Four Season’s very own.

The team are all very well-trained, making you feel somewhat like royalty if I dare say. Just for an afternoon, that’s completely fine with me. I’ll sip tea with my pinky up, try not to laugh too loud, and behave like a well-educated grown up 🙂

The afternoon tea set came shortly after. Possibly one of the more impressive sets we have had, of late. Smoked salmon mousse, smoked chicken tart, cucumber roll and truffle egg mayo sandwich for savouries. When I say truffle egg mayo – you can actually see a slice of truffle.

There are seven sweets on the set. My favourite would definitely be the rosemary brioche feuilletee. Another highlight would be their scones – which is not the standard ones you get around. Go try it – you will know what I mean.

Credits, to Four Season’s senior executive pastry chef Nicholas Lambert and his team for preparing such an exquisite afternoon tea set. A lot of thought, and skill have been spent to put together every little piece here – and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Overall Thoughts

The SereniTea experience is definitely a lush afternoon – of pampering, relaxation, and delicious bites at Shai Salon.

Mind you, it does come with a pricetag. For 950 AED, this is on par with Sunny Glow Journey at One&Only the Palm – and understandably so. Typically, a 90-minute Signature Pearl Spa Experience would cost 1015 AED, and Afternoon Tea is 240 AED per person. This, is an offer to splurge on – maybe for that special occasion? 🙂 Cause we all deserve to be spoilt, at an afternoon in the Four Seasons Beach Resort.

Have a look through at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai, for other restaurant options as well.

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
