Why haven’t we been to Raffles the Palm before this? What an exquisite property – the interior, the landscaping, their gardens – just beautiful. As we walked into the lobby, we were in awe – the sparkling christmas tree right in the middle and a giant chandelier right above. We have entered a castle, haha.
Alright, let’s get back to topic. Every Saturday, Raffles the Palm does a family brunch at Le Jardin called aptly ” The Raffles Brunch “. We went over one weekend early January to review the brunch with the family.
Here is what to expect at the Raffles Family Brunch.
Where is Le Jardin in Raffles the Palm?
Le Jardin is Raffles the Palm’s all-day dining restaurant, situated on the pool and beach level, one floor down from the lobby level.
If you haven’t been to Raffles – it’s tucked in between the Kempinski and the W, on the West Crescent of the Palm.
Yes, there is complimentary valet.

Is the Raffles brunch indoors, or outdoors?
The Raffles brunch is typically set up outdoors – with seating on Le Jardin’s terrace, by the glorious Raffles gardens.

Unfortunately for us, on that one day that we are at Raffles – it was pouring cats and dogs so everything was shifted indoors.
The sun shall be up and shining for the rest of the year, so while the weather is cool enough – book a table outdoors and savour the crisp winter air! Here’s how Raffles looks like when we were there :
Are there any kids entertainment in the Raffles brunch?
Yes – lots to keep the little ones active and entertained outdoors.
Typically the garden area will be properly utilised – with giant Jenga, trampoline, bouncy castle, as well as an area set up with arts and craft activities. There is also petanque and croquet for the older ones.

Again, we missed all this thanks to the awesome weather, but was lucky enough to take the little ones on the trampoline when the rain stopped pouring. I can imagine how fun it will be for the kids on a good day with so much space for them to run around in.
We also took them to the little playground by the pool which they spent a very long time at.
What is the food like at the Raffles Brunch?
The live food stations are typically outdoors.
You’ll find the sushi counter, the Asian corner, a smoker on one side and live BBQ station on the other. You can also get your drinks – wine and cocktails from the bar counters outside. Or, sit back and relax – the staff will serve you at your table – of course 😉

On the Saturday that we were there – there was pan seared seabass, polenta cake and shredded lamb, salmon pie, gnocchi with tomato sauce, amongst others. From the roast section – whole roasted turkey (possibly because it was Orthodox Christmas then), beef rump, veal ribs, mixed seafood as well a giant lamb ouzi station.
Have I mentioned they have a cold seafood section too? It’s a brunch prerequisite nowadays, isn’t it? 🙂 Oysters, mussels, prawns…

Not to forget a kids buffet corner with fish fingers, chicken nuggets, curly fries, hotdogs, burgers…… and, a soft serve ice cream station – with a bit of twist, it gets served as an ice cream sandwich!
Is there live music at the Raffles Brunch?
Yes – by Sam Tring Trio. Lovely to see her again – she looks the same as when we first saw at the London Project.
Would definitely love to return to the Raffles Brunch when they are playing outdoors.

Overall Thoughts
Raffles the Palm is my current new favourite resort at the Palm. We will definitely be returning back to Raffles a lot more in the coming months. If you have never been there – start with taking the family to the Raffles Brunch. It’s a good way to spend an entire afternoon having food and drinks, while the little ones run free.
To compare with other family brunches in Dubai, I would put Raffles on par with say, Suq at Four Seasons. And with that they are similarly priced. One to get dressed up for – and experience a nice outdoor brunch in the delicately manicured gardens of the Raffles.
