Did you watch Beauty and the Beast, as a child? I did. I loved it. So I was probably more excited than my kids when I found out that the Family Brunch team had launched yet another one (they’re on a roll, aren’t they?) – called Jardin Rose Family Brunch, this time in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. We drove down the west crescent of the Palm towards the resort to review the brunch early November. My 4 year old was yet again, wearing her yellow dress. Finally, in theme 😉
Here’s what to expect at the Jardin Rose Family Brunch.
Where in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is the Jardin Rose Family brunch?
Jardin Rose Family Brunch is located in Imperium, their family-friendly restaurant located on the west wing of the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.
If that makes no sense to you, turn left when you walk into the resort and keep walking to the very end. It’s the last restaurant on the right hand side.
Yes, there is complimentary valet.
Why is it called Jardin Rose?
French for ‘Rose Garden’ – the venue is adequately decorated with roses outdoors by their ‘Enchanted Garden’, around their stage and their Cocktail station. It’s Beauty and the Beast-themed, which we all know was set in France – and yes, you do get appearances by them. That was the highlight for me!

Beauty and the Beast? Do the characters appear?
Yes they do!
We arrived half an hour late and had missed the ‘grand entrance’, but thankfully managed to catch Lumiere and Cogsworth just as they were leaving the restaurant.
Tip : Get there on time!

It was so cute, watching our little kids look up at the super tall Lumiere (man on stilts, obviously).
Belle and the Beast turns up as well – or shall I say, they waltz in to the music. So magical, especially that it as done in Imperium – with the giant sparkly chandeliers above and marble floor and columns. It would have been so cool if they cleared all the tables and lowered the lights – and let them do a proper dance. From other videos of the brunch it looked like they did do a dance……so sad that we missed it. Another reminder to get to this brunch on time! 🙂
What happens next?
Belle, the beautiful Georgia from the Boutique Princesses team enters the ‘Enchanted Garden’, which is set in Imperium’s outdoor terrace. You should have seen all the little kids dressed up and all in awe to see her. She tells the story of Beauty and the Beast. And then she starts singing…. even I was transported to a fairytale land watching her 😉

Few songs later, she gets the kids on their toes to dance to more. Have a look at the videos in the Instagram carousel below, or otherwise click here.
The highlight for us would be the ‘meet and greet’ as she does it so patiently. Little girls get to twirl, curtsy, and hug. So sweet and so special. Have a look Leah Rose Gaarder’s video here.
What other Entertainment is there ?
There is a live music duo on stage and they come in the first part of the brunch.
There is an art and craft corner which is on for the entirely afternoon – balloon bending, face painting and colouring.
The last show of the afternoon just before 4pm, is Magic Al aka Alistair the Magician – who does a fab job with the little kids. He does magic tricks, silly funny shows, gets the kids on stage. Just so much fun for the little people.

What about the food? What do you get?
Food is buffet-style, and french-themed, though there are a lot of other options as well.

The cold seafood is displayed in the middle of Imperium on ice (super grand, ay?) – poached scallops, langoustines, steamed mussels, clams, as well as blue crab. There is Dibba Bay oysters that staff wheels around on trolley to shuck it for you, with accompanying condiments to suit. Tobasco, anyone? Maybe some lemon?
Outside on the terrace, they have a barbeque section – tiger prawns, omani lobsters, lamb cutlets, cornfed chicken breast and grilled vegetables. I had a few too many grilled omani lobsters on Saturday…..

In the hot buffet – shellfish bisque and of course, french onion soup to start. You will find braised beef short ribs, poulet ballottine & ratatouille, lamb rump with lyonnaise potatoes, amongst others. Not to worry, there is also a live carving station with herb crusted leg of lamb and slow cooked beef round.
Keep in theme, there is a foie gras station for those who would like that.
Not to forget the salad section, french cheeses and an extensive bakery section (gotta do that at a french-themed buffet, right?) – all the baguettes, and bread that you would like to eat.
Did I also mention they have a standalone room just for dessert? Oh, and another room for kids’ buffet?
PS – They did have a few indian cuisine choices for those who would prefer a variety – butter chicken, panner tikka masala and jeera rice.

Overall Thoughts
Do Jardin Rose if you enjoy a lavish buffet with lots of seafood, meat, french fare and everything in between. Pick this especially if you or your little ones are fans of Beauty and the Beast. You will be transported to a fairytale world for one afternoon.

Jardin Rose Brunch | Jumeirah Zabeel Saray
Similar to their sister brunches – it is one of the premium family brunches out there (450aed for the house package) – though do keep in mind it is 4 hours of non-stop fun for the kids , and lots of food and drinks for you. That 1 minute of one and one time with Belle on stage was worth it all 🙂 Good job, Family Brunch team. More, please 😉
