When Folly first opened its doors few years ago, I was more than keen to try it out. Photos of the rooftop popped up on my social media feeds. It was just one of those places that you add to the list but work, babies and life just didn’t really allow it.
So when the opportunity came to pick a spot for a very dear friend’s birthday get together, a browse through here and a few more checks on their social media pages to make sure of the current deal, I rang Folly to book for a table of 7.

It was a very warm Tuesday evening, but so glad that we chose Folly – the rooftop and the view from there is beautiful at sunset. I love how you make your way up to the top, and the team had given us this spot where you step down onto – it felt very secluded and special 😉
What do you get?
Minimum spend of 50aed on food and you get 3 drinks. Love the tequila spicy sunset. You get 2 other cocktail choices – vodka with apple cinnamon, and gin with cucumber and basil. Then red and white.
The food is a bit cheekily priced at 49 AED for most. If you have 3 girls there, just order the 150aed platter, it’s got all 4 dishes on there anyways so it works out better – the prawns were delicious. Definitely keen to return to try out the rest of the ala carte menu in the restaurant.
Thoughts for the night?
We were a difficult bunch, dare I say. Asking to move benches, then requesting to shift entirely to couches on the other side. Constant request for more drinks (7 ladies, c’mon), more food.

The staff was accommodating, special mention to Salman who was the star of the night (pictured above, to be mentioned that he was wearing a face mask for the entire evening and only removed it for the photo). It was however quite warm on Tuesday for end of April and I think we’ll only have a week or two before it gets uncomfortable to sit outside. Get the fans installed for the summer, guys! 😉
