A Family Lunch @ The Beach Grill, Address Beach Resort

The Beach Grill is Address Beach Resort’s pool and beachside restaurant. It’s what Palm Avenue is to Waldorf, Seagrill is to Fairmont, Plaj is to Zabeel Saray. It’s basically where you’ll take your kids to dine after an afternoon by the family pool – and guess what? As an in-house guest, kids under 7 dine for free from their kids menu – hooray for families with young children 😉

How is it like inside?

The restaurant is bright and airy, with full-height glass windows – giving you a nice view of the bridge leading to Bluewaters and of course – Dubai Eye. It’s nice to see that they’ve spaced out all tables as per covid restrictions as well. As with all beachside restaurants which work well during the cooler months, let’s hope they get their AC triple checked for Dubai’s summer 😉

What’s on the menu?

Mainly seafood, with steak options. Stick to salads which vary from 50 AED for Caesars to 130 AED for a Lobster Salad. Pastas and a Wagyu Burger from 90-120 AED. Steaks are circa 200 AED, with sides for 30 AED.

Feeling a bit rich and wanting to show off? Order the Oyster and Caviar for 600 AED and the Iced Ocean Seafood Plate for around 500 AED (please invite me to join you if you do).

What did we have, how was it?

Always nice to start off with salads – the Buffalo Mozzarella (58 AED) and Tuna Nicoise (78 AED) came to the table freshly prepared and plentiful. My 3-year old absolutely loved the quail egg , we ended up asking for more. Not that it tastes much different to a normal egg – something to do with small-looking things – “its so cute mummy!”…

We moved onto the mains quite quickly as we were pretty hungry (lunch was almost 3pm). It was going to be the Double New Zealand lamb chop (138 AED) and Wagyu Beef Burger (118AED) between us – I’ll be honest here, I cannot remember much about it as we gobbled it down quite quickly.

I managed to try some of the Sago Mango Cream dessert – which was meant to be mango sorbet with pomelo, sago and of course – in pure Dubai-style – gold flakes. It may have been the hot weather as by the time my sorbet was served, it was basically melted down to a mangoey soupy dish that was too sweet and too icky for me to finish. Sorry guys, not for me.

What about the kids?

Fish and chips, and pasta. Did they bother to eat much of it? Of course not. I had to pack it away so they could have it afterwards 😉 Oh, they do also have a very gimicky Minion shaped cake thing which the little ones might like.

Overall thoughts?

Pretty standard poolside dining , with prices similar to resorts at the Palm. Special shout out to the lovely Jagruti who took care of us that afternoon – such a sweet girl 😉

Happy to see that kids under 7 dine for free (this is definitely a plus, as most resorts do it typically for under 5s only). If you’re not staying the night, pop over with the family for lunch anyways – it’s definitely a nice spot to be, right next to their pool and by the beach. Come soon though – it’s getting hot out there…..!!

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
