He he he. The 1st of the month is always exciting for liloneoftheashes. That’s when the Entertainer gives its monthly deals. This morning I woke up, and had a flick around the app and guess who’s on – Bussola Italian Restaurant, at The Westin Mina Seyahi 🙂

We’ve seen this place from the outside many times now when we’ve been to the Westin – it’s beautiful at night, and we’ve heard good things from friends who have been there as well. Never been simply because there hasn’t ever been deals 😉 So when the opportunity came this morning, we grabbed it!

When it comes to hotel breakfast deals, Bussola tops it all 🙂 The cost price itself is pretty reasonably to be honest, similar to that of The Pavilion at Downtown Dubai. For 110AED, you get a choice from the ala carte menu, one hot drink (coffee/tea), a choice of fresh juice, and a gourmet breakfast buffet spread. 

The place itself is so cosy and romantic, even in the mornings. It does not feel like the usual hotel breakfast restaurants that’s crowded with queues, where you’re worried you might lose your child. We sat indoors, downstairs, as it was raining this morning so the terrace upstairs was closed.

The savoury buffet area had selections of pork (yes!) – ham and salami, bacon and egg pie ( this was so delicious, they called it pancetta and cheese quiche, italian style I guess 😉 ), foccacias, buffola mozarella cheese salads (mmmm, yum), according to G – spinach and blue cheese quiche, selection of freshly cut fruits and nuts.

On the other side were pastries, not huge in quantity but definitely big on the yummy-o-meter 🙂 Strawberry tarts (I had this and the custard was so fresh, base and strawberries absolutely delicious) , chocolate tarts, chocolate croissant, and more.

Don’t fill yourself too much as the warm ala carte dishes are a treat. You get 4 choices – this is what we had :

Toasted ciabatta bread with baby spinach, aglio e olio, toasted pancetta, organic poached eggs (I asked to have mine fried), grilled asparagus and saffron mascarpone sauce……… it came on a warm dish, like a piece of fine dining art 🙂 Delicious.

G had Italian sausages and tomato ragout, organic eggs, parmigiana reggiano cheese and toasted focaccia.

I hate to say it but for the price at 110AED, I prefer this over the one at The Pavilion (The Bench is now priced at 115AED), uh oh 😀

You get to feel like you’re on a holiday as you’re literally in a resort, overlooking Westin’s pool, trees, and all the many birds all around.

What’s the best bit?

It’s 2 4 1 this month! Ahhhh! Can it get any better? 🙂 He he he he he. 110AED for two. Now, that’s a deal!
