The menu at The Farm has evolved quite a lot since it first opened its doors. My visit back in 2015 wasn’t exactly the best, and I’ve only been back twice since. Okay, I admit – the fact that Al Barari is a road-trip away from the Marina didn’t exactly help, plus it’s one of the many places that isn’t in the Entertainer, or plan to join anytime soon. What does it say about the place? It must be doing well, isn’t it? 🙂
So how was our breakfast get-together this time round?
My home-made waffles (45 aed) came picture-perfect with strawberries, icing sugar, clotted cream and jam. For the same price, it brings the one at Drift to shame really. Sorry guys. The toasted french brioche was again, another little piece of breakfast art at 40 AED. Maison Mathis – take note! They do have a large selection of savoury selections, and our friend ordered The Farm’s Omelette – which at 51 AED I felt was pretty reasonably priced.
We all know venues gain most of their profits from their drinks, I guess I’ll have to forgive them for 29 AED lattes. My glass of beetroot and carrot was so little – and at 30 AED well, I’ll just consider it very hard work to maintain all the greenery as well as the beautiful river that runs through it 😉
This time round we did not have issues with service. What did freak me out annoy me were the bees that were so persistent. Not much we can do about those, they already a fancy futuristic fly spinning device on their table.
Overall thoughts? If you don’t mind the drive, or if you live in the area – come to The Farm for a very different breakfast experience. It’s lush, it’s beautiful, and honestly – after all the many breakfast places I’ve been to recently – that is the pricing for a mid to high range spot these days. They do sometimes have awesome offers – I noticed they had a 75 AED breakfast deal on Mother’s Day – maybe I’ll make the drive back there for that? 😉
PS – They do have a little playground on the lawn, which hopefully is shaded in the afternoons as it is unfortunately lit in the morning.
Note : Non-sponsored post. We paid for breakfast at The Farm.
