#28 Bodyboarding in the East Coast

Last weekend we filled up the tank, onto a 2 hour journey to the east coast of the UAE. First time to Fujairah 🙂 Many thanks to Oceanic Khorfakkan for prompting us to go on this trip, and pampering us full-out (blog post here).

Good timing ay, as Cyclone Nilofar had hit and we were blessed with good waves, and some freak hailstorms as side effects.

I had heard about Tim’s Reef, so off we went after breakfast to watch the keen surfers.  Sorry, G had conveniently left the zoom lense at home so all you get is little dots of people, hehe. Possibly the lot from Surf Shop Arabia? 🙂

We carried on driving towards Fujairah where the resorts are laid along the shoreline. Lucky for me, I found somewhere we could rent bodyboards, slightly steep at 100AED for 3 hours but, gotta do it! Again, we had conveniently left ours at home.

Check out the size of the waves!

So much fun. So happy the waves are back 🙂

Swellmap indicates that there will be baby waves in Dubai this weekend. Decent ones in the east coast but we’ll be staying put this time.

See you are the shore?

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
