Itchy for a brunch after Ramadan, we jumped onto Entertainer Member Offers once August kicked in. Glad to see that Karma Kafe was on the list, one of those that we had always wanted to try but never did because…. well, there were always so many other brunches with a deal 😉

Reservations
I emailed a week prior to the date, close to midnight. Cyril replied me straight away which was pretty impressive 😉 Generally no issues with reservations, we changed it from 6 to 4 a day before the date, and they dealt with it fine.
On Service, Food, Atmosphere
I arrived 15 pass 12, and was brought to our table tucked to the corner close to the sushi prep counter. My lovely girl friends were a fashionably 45 minutes late haha, sigh, Dubai-style. So there I was, sitting quite impatiently, playing with my S3, sipping on apple juice. I ordered Californian Maki and Crunchy Prawn Maki (both were devine, highly recommend). Staff was initially extremely slow in getting us soy sauce, I had walk up to the counter to ask them for it. I had ordered a sparkling white as well which never came, until we reminded the wait staff later on.
To be honest, I think they were struggling at the beginning, but after the girls arrived close to 1pm, the service got much much better. Drinks came quick, refills were prompt. We stuck on sparkling white which was good.
Food orders were ala-carte style and the girls loved it ay. I gotta say it tops my list for best asian brunch, together with Shanghai Chic’s night time buffet. Just great quality asian food, beautiful presentation. Also, a great way to try out Karma Kafe’s menu without breaking your wallet – considering it’s currently about 200AED per person for all-you-can-eat and drink!

Things I liked and recommend – “Osaka-style” Tartare which is a salmon & tuna with avocado, cucumber. Japanese Tuna Pizza. Thai Beef Salad. Meditteranean Soba Noodles with Prawn. Miso Black Cod Bangkok Style. The girls loved the Beef Tenderloin so much they ordered it twice 🙂

Special mention to Ashraf who I could tell had his eye on all the tables within our area, making sure we always had our drinks and that there was always food. To the other chap, whom I didn’t get your name as well -for taking care of us and taking the great many photos 🙂

Drinks, last order was at 3:30pm. We moved onto the bar area to chill out and finish off sparkling whites, must have had left at 5:30pm or so.
If you love your japanese/chinese food, you’ll love the brunch at Karma Kafe. Gotta take G there when he’s back. Care to extend the 2 for 1 deal to next month? 😉
Tip – If you wanna carry on the evening, suggest The Stables which is a 20AED taxi ride from Souk Al Bahar. It’s free bubbly for ladies from 5pm-10pm, if you can keep drinking (Jeez!). There’s a great band The Boxtones who play at 7:30pm as well…
