Moet & Chandon Champagne Day @ Jetty Lounge, One&Only Royal Mirage Dubai

What a spectacular event it was – ringing in World Champagne Day, hosted by Moet & Chandon at the glorious Jetty Lounge. Where shall I even begin?

The pop-up stage that was custom built for the event, that beautiful swing with the gold and cream balloons above, the talented acrobatic dancer who spun around mid-air, being suspended by a gigantic balloon (I know, I don’t even know how to describe this).

What about the music? Joseph Terterian and Ana Kovacevic on vocals, getting us moving to We Will Rock You and *inserts another song, but I cannot remember*. Blame it on the champagne. At one point they were both right at the top of the makeshift stage. I can only imagine how nerve-wrecking it would have been to sing with all you’ve got, right at the very top. Ah, the things entertainers and musicians have to go through in Dubai. Let’s not forget Tatiana Durova on the cello, and Anna Petrasian on the violin. Just a stunning, stunning setup.

And of course, the beautiful models dressed in gold – as Shaun had appropriately described it as ‘like Wicker Man meets Midsommar’. They were literally like Greek goddesses – it all felt a bit surreal.

We were pampered with canapes, a mini Moet vending machine (yes, a vending machine), and our glasses were continuously filled with….. Moet.

The crowd definitely got the dress code right – it was all gold and cream. I did try to get the husband to buy a gold suit. He didn’t really entertain my suggestion seriously. I mean, where else can you wear one, right? There were a few familiar faces, but as we typically keep ourselves in low profile, it was really quite fun to people-watch and speak to a few. Quote from someone who knows the circle well, “I swear the whole world is there… Apart from me!” I shall keep his identity anonymous. Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.

The highlight – that moment when the dancer (the one suspended mid-air) graciously passed the gigantic Moet & Chandon bottle to the man of the night – all I could think was – this is what Dubai is all about. Moet has definitely raised the bar for events in Dubai. And how appropriate, to have this hosted in the exclusive One&Only Royal Mirage.

Many thanks again to the team at One&Only for the invitation. Definitely one of the most spectacular events we have ever been to in Dubai. A night to remember. Still absolutely gutted we didn’t sneak home a few of those mini Moet bottles though……damn. My mum would’ve love one.
