If you still have no plans for the next few days, you want to do a family-friendly brunch which has activities for the kids, as well as pool and beach access for the whole family – you could possibly consider the Eid Fun Fair Brunch at Gastro Kitchen 🙂
Here’s what you’ll get and what we thought of it :
Doubletree Hilton, where?
The resort is tucked right at the end of JBR Beach in between Address Beach Resort and Sheraton Jumeirah.
Entertainment for the kids, you say?
Yeah. Rare these days isn’t it, with all the regulations in place.
It’s fun fair themed – so upon entry you are given tokens which we can use for games at the stalls. Toss a ring, hook the duck, throw the ball – all those impossible-to-win games to win a prize 😉 There’s lots of balloons around to give you the party feel and a beautiful swing for that insta-shot – a classic Dubai thing now isn’t it?
The only catch is it’s all outdoors, so yes – it was very hot when we were there for the preview. My girls went in and out throughout the afternoon, and as the place is not too big I could sorta keep an eye at them from within the restaurant. Sort of… 🙂
What about the food? What do you get?
Loved that it was serve-to-table, and they basically bring everything to you. There is no menu to choose from, it’s a standard spread – so be prepared to be surprised… or, just have a look at what we got in case you don’t like surprises 😉
We were two adults and 3 toddlers – and there was definitely too much food on the table. You will not leave hungry. I loved the little dishes – the smoked salmon, the beetroot and grapefruit salad, and the minced chicken and tomato salad. And when the mains came, we knew we were in trouble. Grilled big king prawns – so tasty, lamb leg that I wish I could bring home, and grilled fish – possibly sea bream? There were a few dishes I didn’t even get the chance to try out, so please come hungry.
And drinks?
The mixologist definitely did an awesome job with the cocktails. Aesthetic, and delicious. I preferred the popcorn colada over the summer grandma. Not that I got to eat any of that cotton candy or popcorn – guess who ate all of that? And got more? 😉
Wait, did you see you get Pool & Beach access too? How much is this brunch again?
Yes you do 😉 Which is a plus, especially for 225 AED an adult for the non-alcoholic package!
The drinks package is 325 AED per adult, and if you’re feeling a little festive and want some bubbly, it’s 350 AED.
Overall thoughts?
Good for those with older toddlers or kids that don’t mind the heat in the afternoon so they can go in and out during the brunch. Great for families who likes a nice cocktail and good food. And of course, a swim after a day of food 😉
What could be better? Would have been nice if there was live music…. Or some other entertainment for the little ones indoors.
