A little bit of Brazilian @ Churrasco Nights, Cabana The Address Dubai Mall

Few Thursdays back, we were invited to the Churrasco Nights at Cabana, The Address Dubai Mall – renewed for the season. With the guests here and mum keeping them company (as well as our little one), the two of us sneaked away through the mall, to the outdoor pool of the The Address Hotel. Cabana, their “fabulous al fresco restaurant” , quote unquote from their website, as yes, there were rows of them alongside the pool (which we were very tempted to jump in, even at 8pm in the evening..).

Thoughts for the evening?

Loved, the setting – just a few tables by the pool – far away from each other so you can have your own privacy. If you preferred a bit more laid-back area, there are bar-tables where the live band was playing.

Food, was not all that memorable. The appetisers, salads, and desserts were served buffet-style, and meat was served to table when you turned your little coaster-like thing to green. Meat came a bit too late as the husband was getting hungry for some (and had to keep reminding for them to serve), so I would suggest if they prepped these a little faster. The beef steak was tender and juicy, as with the lamb.

Highlights for the evening would have been the Brazilian dancers, reminisce of when we were at Fogueira for their Brazilian Independance Day celebrations last year (click here to read). Unfortunately none of the guests joined in to dance – probably would have been a bit more fun if it was later into the evening and everyone has had a few cheeky ones. Or maybe most of the guests that evening was part of  media and too shy to boogie ( i.e us, ha ha).

For 295 AED inclusive of soft beverages, and 385 AED for the alcoholic packages, I would probably return if there was a promotion (241/similar) and organise for a large group of friends who wanted to get-together afterwork on a Thursday evening (one of the very few evening brunches on Thursday!). With such a nice setting, I’m sure it will be busy all throughout the winter months – my only advice is to get the meat prepped faster (for the boys), and ah, maybe……. pool access prior ? (Biased opinion, I just miss having a pool 🙂 )

As far as churrascaria in Dubai goes, when it comes to an overall experience, my favourite still goes to Toro Toro (click here to read). For evening brunches, Cabana ties with Fogueira (click here) – downtown view vs marina view.  Give it a try anyways, and let me know how it is!

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
