A day out @ Saadiyat Beach Club

Home from work drinks at Iris 🙂 In blogging mood.

So here’s one, specially written for Nada Al Ghowainim from Undefined Declarations. We met briefly at the Coffee Club Middle East launch many months ago.  Very sweet girl, and recently she was on twitter asking for somewhere to recommend for a staycation to Abu Dhabi for a staycation, so I recommended St Regis, as we have stayed there before and it’s absolutely heaven on earth.

Saadiyat Beach Club accidentally popped up in the discussion – so instead of explaining through numerous messages – Nada, here’s a better description of what we thought of it 😉

Honestly?

It was okay. I wouldn’t pay 720AED for G and I though, as that was the weekend rate for couples. Very sorry, Saadiyat Beach Club! 😉 It is a beautiful beach club though, mind you. The infinity pool is large and family friendly, the cabanas (600 AED, seriously?) appears quite nice. There were lots of kids with parents in the pool which meant nice for families in general – very safe and a great way to spend the day with mum and dad. If you were there on a membership it will be worth it but again, I wouldn’t pay 720AED for G and I.

So if you wanna do it cheap, there’s an Entertainer 2 for 1 in the Abu Dhabi Entertainer book. If you’re planning to pay full price for it I’m gonna be very disappointed in you 😛

The gym and yoga room however – I really liked. Prior to jumping into the pool, we spent quite sometime in the gym room. I did my yoga, in a completely empty dance/yoga room, with my phone plugged into the speakers. It was absolute bliss. If there is a similar dance/yoga room here in Dubai – please let me know!

After a few laps, we shared a smoked salmon sandwich which was so good, possibly highlight of our day there, other than my session in the dance room 😉

So yeah. My honest thoughts ay. The reason why we made the trip there was because G had randomly won a competition from some magazine awhile back. So no, it was not an invitation 😉 I actually didn’t plan to write about it, as I normally don’t, on very so-so experiences. But since you asked about it – here you go!

So, if you want a luxurious staycation, I recommend St Regis. I would recommend it anytime to anyone. Saadiyat Beach Club – if it was cheaper, yeah – maybe. Otherwise, give it a pass. For the full price it’s charging, my thoughts are it’s a wee bit overrated. With the two for one, it’s okay. Beautiful, nonetheless 🙂

PS – their spa facilities is gorgeous. Check out the photos below.

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
