I’m sure you’ve already read quite a few reviews from other bloggers, of the newly opened Pantry Cafe in Bay Square. So I’m gonna keep this short and sweet, with our thoughts of the food and drinks, and more so of the interior of the cafe 🙂
Few weekends ago we were invited to check out the launch of the second branch of Pantry Cafe. The first, being at Al Safa park (honestly haven’t been), and now the next, at Bay Square.
Before I splash the pretty photos of the amazing food that they serve, I’ll start off with where we normally go to at the end. The bathrooms.
Traditional high-level polished aluminium cisterns, with rigid pull chains. Don’t see many those nowadays isn’t it. Burlington has brought back rustic, and I like it. I told G to take some photos of the gentlemen’s toilets and obviously I didn’t get any photos. Hahaha. The sinks are aluminium pails, you just might as well think you’re on a ship somewhere.
And another trend we see a lot in the likes of Tom & Serg and Fume – exposed ductwork and bare concrete finishes. Makes any MEP engineer proud, probably one of the few times that the interior designer actually gets to sit in a meeting room to discuss making ductworks ‘pretty’ 😉
Okay you foodies, I’m gonna get onto the main part. We liked it. If it was any closer to home, we would probably go there for late breakfast in the weekends. Within the four of us, we probably tried almost all the smoothies and milkshakes in the menu. Personal favourite was the spiced chai and tropical kale. Oh wait, you gotta check out the strawberry cheesecake milkshake.

We were given a little bit of everything from their taster menu, and I gotta say, on top of how good the food tasted, they had full points when it came to presentation. Every plate came out worthy of an instagram post. You could collate them all and put it as a collage on your wall, and never be hungry again. Or, keep wanting to go back to Pantry Cafe 🙂 Personal favourites ? Kataifi prawns, and savoury mushroom waffles.
Maybe when and if my workplace moves to Downtown, you’ll see us there for lunch? 🙂 Cheers for the invite, now I’m hungry.. time to find some lunch…..
