Sunset over the marina

Two kiwis, three filipinos, two japanese and one englishman walked into Asia Asia on Friday. 3 hours later, they left with a full tummy and very, very happy πŸ™‚Β

Sincere apologies for the last minute cancellation two Friday’s ago. I was over-excited when I saw that Entertainer Monthly Offers had you guys on for brunch this month, having been there for ladies night few weeks before. So glad that we could finally make it last weekend though…… and cheers for putting our group of 8 in a great spot inside. It was perfect away from direct sunlightΒ but facing all of the marina with the doors all open πŸ˜‰

So, my thoughts ? πŸ™‚

Food

I’ve done this asian-themed brunch at the sister branch (I’m rhyming! πŸ˜€ ) Karma Kafe before, and it was to date my favourite asian buffet, after Shanghai Chic. The menu is very similar (or is it the same?) and the food is delicious, if not perfect.

Favourites, the persian style black cod, tuna and salmon tartare, all the sushi and the fact that when one of the girls asked for ‘more sashimi’, they took out this

Glorious tuna and salmon sashimi

That had got to be the highlight of our afternoon. And we finished every single piece πŸ™‚

Only bit that I wasn’t too happy about was that there was so much food served to table, we could not finish everything, and I felt really bad about wasting food, especially when it was that good! Suggest if you don’t want so much, tell the waiter to maybe give a smaller portion so it doesn’t go to waste?

Drinks

One of the few, that actually offers quite a variety for drinks for a great price. Prosecco, Mimosa, House Wine (Red/White), House pouring spirit with mixers, Bottled Beer (Tiger and Heineken) and Soft Drinks. I stuck to their red for the afternoon, and it was a good one πŸ™‚

One thing to acknowledge, when G had asked for beer, they actually brought him a chilled glass as well to go with it. Not bad πŸ™‚

Atmosphere

I gotta give it 10/10 ay. We were seated indoors but as it was really cool all the doors were open. It was a beautiful afternoon at Pier 7. If you’re a big group and is a little bit worried that you may get a bit hot outside, ask them for this spot. You get the best of both πŸ™‚

Service

Being the attentive one when it comes to service, I noticed that the staff seemed fairly stressed at the beginning as it was full house. Can’t blame them ay, everyone was asking for something πŸ™‚

Did not have issues however, as they were quick to clear the plates to replace them with new ones all the time, and our drinks were regularly filled.

If you’re coming in a big group, I suggest you let them serve you a variety of this and that, and later on if there’s something specific, just ask for it πŸ™‚ Many thanks to those who took care of the table of 8 on Friday, and for putting up with us asking uze to take photos as well πŸ™‚

I liked that they gave us a massive platter of sushi to start. And to highlight again that they were very generous with the sashimi. It was one of those, jaw dropping moments when the platter came. Maybe just for us sashimi-lovers πŸ˜‰

In conclusion

Probably one of the better brunches we’ve been to this year. Recommend for groups of friends, couples, not too much for kids I’ll say. Definitely one that we’ll be coming back for. 200AED for all you can and drink with the Entertainer, not too bad ay? πŸ˜‰
