So disappointed 🙁

I’ve read and heard good reviews about this place. We cycle pass it a lot of time now and it’s always pretty packed with asians, so we figured – it must be good?

We ordered the ‘package’ to start. The meat, from the photos appeared to be a plate but it was literally 8 super slim slices spread over a big plate so that it covered the whole plate. I wonder how much time it took them to make sure it covered the whole area.

The fishballs tasted more like low-quality flour balls. It was soft and squishy. I’ve never tasted such bad fishballs before. The ones you buy from the freezer in Carrefour are 100x better!

They were generous with the green veges (aw, how nice), shittake mushrooms, and chinese fungus.

We ended up ordering another plate of mixed lamb/beef meat to fill our tummies!

It ended up being about 50AED per person but seriously, for what you get, it’s not worth it.   We didn’t really understand why so many chinese were there. We’ve grown up having tons of hotpot sessions with family and friends, this is nothing near the real deal, or maybe this is the real ‘chinese’ steamboat?!

I’m gonna get a pot myself and host steamboats at home with good quality fishballs!
