Hilton Dubai Jumeirah – 7 Reasons to Stay in this JBR Resort, with the Family

Let’s begin by stating the obvious. This is not a new hotel. It’s officially 25 years old. In any part of the world, this is considered relatively new, but in Dubai – there are a few words that we can use to describe it – but the nice one to pick for an editorial piece like this would be……classic. Maybe, vintage? Can we use, heritage, or is it pushing it? You got the gist. Let’s look past the age as there is so much about this hotel that you would love. And we’re here to tell you why.

Read on – 5 Reasons, why you should pick this resort in JBR Dubai for a staycation with the family.

1. Location, location, location.

If you’re looking for a resort that’s situated right in the middle of JBR, this is a fab option. Walk straight out the front door and you’re a few steps away from ‘The Beach’ and ‘The Walk’ where so many restaurants and retail outlets are located. Of course I’m going to tell you to choose to eat in the hotel but look – if you wanted to, you have options, and lots of it. This area is buzzing for most of the year, and more so during the winter months.

Flipside of the coin? As with most hotspots, JBR is notoriously known for its traffic. So yes, the roads can get very congested especially during peak hours. If you have made plans outside of JBR, allow extra time. Over the winter season – make use of the tram and metro.

🔹 Tip : JBR1 tram station is a 8 minutes walks away from the Hilton, and from there you can get to Dubai Marina Mall, or any of the stops along Al Marsa Street. During the peak traffic hours, you have a better chance of getting a taxi out from there 🙂 It is also connected to the metro from which you can get to Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, and more.

2. Spacious Family Rooms with Suite Options & Interconnecting Rooms

If you have two kids – it’s pretty simple.

Look into Hilton’s King One Bedroom Suite which officially sleeps 2 adults, 2 kids. There is a king size bed in the room, connected to a very spacious lounge area with a sofa that converts into a bed. They have various other suite options which also officially sleeps a family of 4. They just vary in configuration and size, and of course – pricing.

If you, like us – have three kids, you may contact the hotel directly to discuss allowing 3 kids in the suites. It all depends on the age of the kids, availability and of course your manners. The last trait does usually play a big part so get your please, thank you’s and your smile in order.

The other option is to book the King Deluxe interconnected with the Two Queens Deluxe. These rooms officially sleep two adults and 1 child each, so it’s basically 6 pax!

Travelling with Extended Family?

If you are travelling with extended family – and you need more space, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah have just one King One Bedroom Suite which is interconnected to a Two Queens Deluxe on the 9th floor, right next to the Executive Lounge.

When my mum was visiting, we stayed in these rooms during our staycation mid June. We could’ve pulled open the sofa bed and made more space but honestly – just the King One Bedroom plus Two Queens Deluxe was more than enough for all 6 of us. Mum shared a queen bed with my 8 year old girl. The 10 year old had the bed all to herself (because she’s 10 and cool). The 6 year old shared the king bed with husband and I. I highly recommend this room as it was super convenient to be located adjacent to the lounge, and right outside the lifts.

Celebrating a birthday for the little ones?

If you’re booking a staycation to celebrate your kids’ birthday – make a special request with the hotel to do a special setup for the kids. The housekeeping team is super talented and prepare the cutest towel art. This may come with a slight fee – please check with them.

3. Pools close to Main Building with Shaded Kids’ Pool

The positive side of staying in a smaller hotel like the Hilton is that it’s a short walk from indoors to the pool area. The family pool, which mind you – was just renovated summer of 2025 – is literally just a few steps from the door leading out.

Family Pool

When we stayed here at the beginning of summer, the family pool was in the sun from around late morning till sunset. They do have a shaded toddler pool but our kids are a little older now and won’t last 2 seconds in there, so we took them out to the family pool during the early evening. FYI we’re chinese and will melt in the sun.

They do have a shaded bar area with in-built bar stools, which my 6-year old boy was having a lot of fun sliding along, on his belly. Kids – they make the most of what they get, isn’t it 🙂 Gotta love them for that.

You can tell that the entire area is very new and modern, which is a great thing – but personally, the pool area would definitely benefit from having a few trees or shrubs introduced.

🔹Note : The pool varies in depth from around 0.98m on one end, to 1.2m in the middle, and 1.5m on the other.

Adults-only Pool

A few steps away from the family pool, sits Hilton’s new adults-only pool for 16 year olds and above. No little kids allowed.

Always happy when hotels decide to introduce a kid-free pool 🙂 This pool has the best view of the Ain Dubai – so if you want that perfect Insta-shot, you know where to be.

Similar to the family pool – I do feel that it’s just a bit too, cleaned out. Please introduce some trees back in this area. Overhanging tree branches are good for instagram photos too, y’know. And shade 🙂

4. Easy Access to Hotel Restaurants + FIFA World Cup Viewings

Another great thing about staying at the Hilton is the availability of different dining options on property. Pretty handy especially over the summer season – so you don’t have to leave!

Oceana

Oceana is your breakfast spot, which runs from 7am to 11am daily. Lots of comfy couches and booths for families. Breakfast is served buffet-style, and you can also order your eggs at the live station which they prep fresh. To highlight – they do have a pork station with pork bacon, sausages and ham, as well as a gluten-area area too.

🔹 Note : Oceana also Theme Nights in the evenings. See : Hilton’s Voucher Site for current offers.

Trader Vic’s

Definitely consider Trader Vic’s if you’re going half board at Hilton. We asked to be tucked away in the corner booths as we got there quite late and we had our kids with us, and they were super kind to accomodate. You get three courses from a set menu and I highly recommend the Pineapple Fried Rice – which comes served in a hollowed out pineapple. My husband enjoyed their Coco Lemongrass Fish, served with coconut-lemongrass sauce and mirin. They also have a kids’ menu.

Tip : Every Friday night – Trader Vic’s has a ladies night from 8pm to 10pm, where all ladies get free-flowing rum-based cocktails. If you’re here over a weekend, plan it such that you dine at Trader Vic’s on a Friday so you can make the most of the complimentary drinks!

McGettigan’s JBR

A big highlight of our stay was watching the FIFA World Cup on both Friday and Saturday night. As the Sweden vs Netherlands game was earlier on Saturday – we ended up having a late dinner with the kids and they stayed on to watch first half. Glad to report that we weren’t the only families with kids there! Psst – McGettigan’s serves pork as well and their ribs are ah-ma-zing. They do also have a kids’ menu!

Note : McGettigan’s JBR is smoke-free indoors. Typically they do have a no kids policy later on in the evenings but they have made an exception over the World Cup season. Please check directly with them if you plan to take the kids over. See : Mcgettigans.com for current offers.

5. Kids’ Club Access, for Parents’ Quiet Time

Hilton’s Kids’ Club is located on 3rd floor, and drop-off is allowed from Age 4 and above. Parents & guardians are allowed to stay with the younger ones. There’s a little wall-climbing part, toy house, books, board games, and lots of toys.

The kids had some quiet time there colouring and the girls’ played chess. We love that there’s a lot of natural lighting coming through from the very high window panels. As shared directly with the team, there is potential for this place to be much improved. For now – it does its job and is an option for parents who want some quiet time for themselves.

6. Gym & Spa Access

The first thing my husband always asks me when we we plan any day or staycation is – is there a gym there? 🙂 Don’t worry – Hilton Dubai Jumeirah has one. As with most gyms, kids are not allowed due to health and safety reasons. It’s situated to the corner of the building and has a lovely view of the pool, beach and Ain Dubai from its treadmills.

Right next to the gym, you’ll find Hilton’s spa called….*drumroll*, The Spa. They have 6 single treatment rooms and just one couple room so if you plan to book it with a friend or your other half – definitely call ahead!

They have a steam and sauna room within their facilities. Please don’t expect a grand one. The steam room seats 3 pax, shoulder to shoulder. Good enough for mum and I, plus a lovely English lady who was in there at the same time to chit chat – quite comfortably, dare I say.

As of June 2026, Hilton has a very well-priced Spa-cation offer. See : The Best Spa Deals in Dubai Right Now : 2026 Edition

7. Spot-on Ain Dubai & Sunset Views

Hilton’s got one of the best views of Ain Dubai – and it’s stunning all day long, and even more so at sunset. You can also request for rooms facing the Ain, which has a balcony so you can sit back and have a glass of wine while watching the sun go down. Have a look at the photos that we took during our stay in June!

Overall Thoughts

As with all older hotels, there’s definitely things that could be better. But this piece is to highlight the positives, and look – there’s lots, isn’t it? So if you don’t mind the little things – like a teal and lavender-grey/off-white carpet, and just focus on the important things like a really comfortable plush bed with a newly renovated bathroom, not to forget an amazing view of the Ain Dubai – this, will work.

The prices are really reasonable right now, especially in comparison with the new hotels on the same stretch. If all of the above is what you’re looking for, by all means – book a staycation with the family at the Hilton. Please let us know if you do!
