We drove to the One&Only Royal Mirage one Saturday morning – just the husband and I for a spa date. Having been to the resort quite a few times now – it would be the first time heading to the spa itself. Interestingly, it’s situated in the same building as The Residences – which is also where we had chosen for the second part of the date – the lunch. And yes – it’s all included in the ‘Summer Daycation’ offer that’s on right now until the end of September……

Introducing – One&Only Spa
Car handed off the valet, we walked into the Spa Building – and took the lift up to the 1st floor. After filling in the standard pre-treatment forms, we were escorted to our separate changing rooms.
My therapist guided me down to the Ground Floor – where the facilities were situated. This was definitely a different setup to the many spas that we have been to – with the facilities itself being situated on a different floor to where the treatment & changing rooms were.

Within the ladies area – you’ll find the steam and sauna rooms. And in the middle area – a relaxation pool with lots of seating areas on the side. The Oriental Hammam room is also located here – and if it’s not used, you can have a sneaky peek while you’re wandering around the spa area (and quietly plan your next return…)
Note : The relaxation pool area is ladies only between 9 to 1pm, and mixed-use ( ladies & gents ) from 1pm to closing.

I did like the shower room design – with its antique-style shower heads, high ceilings, and narrow and long window with arched tops. There is a very subtle mashrabiya pattern on the glass – a gentle nod to the Arabian architecture that the One&Only have adopted. Take a shower here if you can – its a different kinda experience than the many other hotel spas, with natural light streaming in.
Couples Massage in the Couples Treatment Room
Soon after, I went back up to the first floor to meet up with my therapist. She guided me to the couples treatment room, where my husband was already present with his therapist.
The ‘choose your oil’ procedure begins – where you pretend to know the difference between these various exotic oils. There was a peppermint eucalyptus and a grapefruit cypress somewhere. I don’t remember which one I went for – but I do remember smelling absolutely wonderful afterwards. Don’t we all, after a 60-minute massage treatment. Not too sure about that pink sculpt mud I agreed to though.

Lunch at The Dining Room
We had chosen to dine at The Dining Room, and was glad that it was situated a few steps away from the spa. The Dining Room is very rarely open to the public – so if you’re curious as to how the place is like – book it in.
Indoor Area
As with most of the resort, The Dining Room is grand and beautiful – with its oversized chandeliers, which I can only imagine can be even more striking in the evenings. The entrance to both The Dining Room and The Library ( on the other side ) features a prominent pointed Islamic arch – another common architecture form, found throughout the One&Only Royal Mirage interior and exterior.
Outdoor Area
When the weather is cool – you can sit outside at the outdoor terrace which overlooks the gardens at The Residence. I was just was about to say ‘The Gardens’, to keep up with the theme.
The Lunch
The husband and I ordered a few things from the Daycation Menu. Note that you are allowed 1 main course and a bottle of water as part of the package.
It was literally just us for most of the afternoon – which made the experience even more special. It was as though we had booked up the whole place for ourselves, and had the team taking care of just – us. The Dining Room is so opulent, and I can confirm that they put a lot of thought and love into preparing the dishes. You’ll definitely enjoy it – be it the salad options ( loved the Quinoa & Avocado ), or Roasted Chicken, or Fish of the Day. There’s also Pasta & Risotto should you feel like some carbs.

Pool and Beach Access at the One&Only Royal Mirage
And of course – all-day Pool and Beach Access is included in the Summer Daycation package.
You can choose to go for a swim at The Arabian Court main pools or The Palace pools which are both family-friendly, or otherwise sneak off to Al Janoub pool which is adults-only.

Overall Thoughts
The Summer Daycation Offer is priced really well at 690 AED per person.
If you have a peek at the Spa Menu – a 60-minutes treatment is typically 675 – 775 AED per person. You can also choose to get an ESPA Facial, Traditional Hammam, or otherwise just a Shampoo & Blow Dry, or Manicure at Studio bY Bastien Gonzalez. For the summer season – Pool & Beach is priced at 300 AED per person, with 150 AED redeemable in F&B. So the offer itself is definitely a fabulous one.
Do it soon though – as it ends on the 30th of September 2025, just before we get into good season!
