On a hunt for ladies night in the marina or JBR – I found a few options and we decided that we will do Lock Stock and Barrel based on logistical reasons. It would have been my first time to LSB, so I was quite excited. Anything new is always fun. And there is always something ‘new’ in Dubai, isn’t there?
Here’s a brief rundown of ladies night at Lock Stock, also known as Tipsy Tuesdays – as they do have an offer available for men as well.
The venue.
Tucked in Rixos Premium JBR – Lock Stock occupies two floors : ground and a large basement area where all the ‘fun stuff’ happens. Live music, DJ, shows. It’s a bar – dark, edgy, fun.
As I had gotten there slightly earlier, I took a spot on their ground floor while I waited for my friend to arrive. At 7:30pm in the evening on a school night, there were quite a few people – probably those heading over for a bite after work.
The offer.
150 AED for unlimited drinks and a dish, between 6pm to 1am over a 3 hour seating. I like that ‘3 hour seating’ bit. Not that we will stay any longer than 3 hours but there are a lot of fun party people who could drink all night long….
Take note that the ‘dish’ is more of a ‘bar bite’ – I had the prawns and my friend had the tacos (2 no). So if this is not enough to fill your tummy, make sure you eat before you go.
Happy that they have sparkling wine with the offer, which I stayed on all night after trying two of their cocktails. Nothing wrong with the cocktails -sweet, watery, just takes too long to make me happy…. hahaha.

The vibe.
We moved to the basement area at 8pm when it opened up.

It was full house very soon after. DJ Shane Patrick keeping the music pumping, and doing a good job as around 10pm or so there were a few people who got up and started moving……but were sadly, sadly told by security to sit back down. Ah, damn Covid..
Overall thoughts.
Do Tipsy Tuesdays at Lock Stock for a girly catch up, or with a group of friends as boys can also avail to the offer of 4 drinks. It’s a really fun vibe in their basement, the music is loud but you can still talk (with a raised voice… haha), and it is generally quite a young crowd. Just make sure you have something to eat before you go, as the bar bite wouldn’t be enough to fill your tummy, unless you are happy having a liquid dinner 😉
Would I return? Yes – to check out their live music nights. I hear they do an awesome brunch too? Something worth booking the nanny for? 🙂
