Friday Family Brunch @ Mango Tree Thai Bistro, Hilton JBR Dubai

A family-friendly brunch down in our neighbourhood here in the marina? And it’s pocket-friendly as well? Where? Mango Tree Thai Bistro at the Hilton. To be exact it’s in JBR. Happy to pop in on a Friday afternoon to review the Family Brunch with the little ones, plus it was always nice to catch up with friends as well.

How was it? Here’s our take.

Mango Tree, where?

You should know Pure Sky Lounge, right? If you don’t, you better pay a visit up there soon! 🙂

It’s the same building, but on the Podium level. It is NOT the beach resort side but the one on The Walk.

So to the ones in the neighbourhood walking over, it’s in Bahar 😉

Did you say it was family-friendly? With a play area?

Yes – it’s a family-friendly brunch.

It does have a play area – however do take note that it is small-ish section as you can see below. So don’t go expecting a massive area for big kids to run around, I would say it’s suitable for the very little ones – 2 and under. If you do get a table by the area, it’s still nice to have space for the kids to get away and play.

Let’s talk about food.

Thai food – which I hope you figured out from the name of the restaurant, hehe.

It’s serve to table, which suits us perfectly well – it’s just so much more stress-free when you have kids at the table. There is a menu and they basically bring everything to you – you don’t have to choose, unless there is something that you don’t want in there.

Favourites would be the deep fried chicken dumplings from the appetisers, the very spicy yellow curry with nile perch fillet – which was deliciously cooked with eggplant, pea aubergine and basil leaves. And of course – the mango sticky rice to finish.

What about the kids? What if they don’t want to eat thai food?

Don’t worry, we know kids only eat…. 3 things. So they do have chicken bites, fish finger and french fries, and ice cream. And a few other things on the kids menu but at least that should cover 80% of what toddlers eat these days? 🙂

And drinks?

Don’t worry – they do serve drinks. It is a brunch, afterall 😉 Cocktails are simple – there are 3 on offer and they are all orange juice based with different liquor. I stayed mainly on white.

Overall thoughts?

It was full house on Friday when we went. Large groups of friends with kids. Come, if you like your Thai Food in a very cosy setting. There were lots of toddlers around. I wouldn’t recommend you pick it specifically for the older kids as there isn’t a lot of space for them to run around (if that was what you are looking for). Come winter, it might be better when the terrace opens up and they can run outside.

For the offer – 249 AED per person including drinks, and wait – it is in the Entertainer (at the moment) so for a family with kids under the age of 6, that’s 249 AED for the whole family. That is an absolute steal. Definitely recommend you book early though!
