About time they joined the breakfast club, don’t you think?
Say hello to Koko Bay, which really doesn’t need an introduction. Yes, it’s that famous bali-inspired restaurant in Palm West Beach with amazing views of the marina, that hammock, that swing. I can imagine their start-up committee sitting around a table going – how do we make every corner of this restaurant instagrammable?
So, off we went to the Palm to review Koko Bay’s breakfast menu. Thoughts?

What’s Kokobay like in the morning?

We got there after 9am and there were a few tables occupied – some with families with toddlers and babies, groups of friends, couples. They’ve kept their doors all open so you can sit “inside” but it’s really still alfresco dining.
What’s on Kokobay’s breakfast menu?
You get the breakfast standards – benedict, avo on toast and their own full english breakfast. And of course – the ‘token asian’ dish – an ‘asian omelette’ 😉 Your savouries are circa 60 AED, to around 80 AED for the full english. The sweets are around 55 AED and you have all options – french toast, chia, acai, pancakes.

How was breakfast for us?

The husband ordered the Koko Bay full english breakfast and for 79 AED it definitely made sure you left with a full stomach. It was quite an impressive dish – with 3 sausages and we loved the homemade potato rosti. My Eggs Benedict (59 AED) came – also beautifully presented and delicious – love the toasted brioche they used. We also tried their Amazonian Acai Bowl which at 55 AED looked almost too pretty to eat 😉
A latte is 24 AED, which I thought was very well-priced. You do get quite a few healthy smoothies and detox drinks – try their mean green (35 AED) if you want a bit of a cleanse.
Things that could be better
Suggest for website to be updated to mention that phones are not on before 12pm. I can imagine the number of frustrated patrons trying to make a booking. It would also help to include an automated response to inform callers to ring after 12pm – that way people who are ringing don’t just keep ringing and ringing…..and ringing.
Overall thoughts
Beautiful spot for outdoor breakfast, they really should have started this months ago. Pleased to see that their prices are quite reasonable, considering the place and the view. They definitely did try and make sure the food itself , like the rest of the restaurant – aesthetically pleasing, and hey, it tasted pretty good too. One to check out if you don’t mind splurging for breakfast – a savoury and coffee will set you between 80-100 AED. Kids and dogs, welcome too 😉
