Dining with Kids @ Seagrill Bistro, Fairmont the Palm

Thought I’ll pop back to Seagrill and check out their more casual offerings, after the elaborate feast we had many weeks ago.

The elder one was back in Falcon’s, and younger one completely passed out in our awesome Dragonmart yoyo. I headed towards Fairmont’s seafood restaurant again – this time supposedly incognito and on my own expense.

Their outdoor terrace was busy – and rightly so – skies were blue, temperature perfect and the sun was shining. Well, to be fair, it’s like this every, single, day isn’t it? 🙂

What we had at Seagrill

I felt like carbs, and pasta is always a winner with the little ones. This time I went for their non-seafood dishes for a change and was honestly quite impressed.

The mushroom fusilli pasta, one of their vegetarian options – came picture perfect. I felt that it was just the right combination of mixed mushrooms tossed in truffle oil, complimented with the heavier goats cheese, and light greens.

The rigatoni bolognese, was served still hot onto the table. Portions were just right, and again happy with the plating.

Service

They’ve definitely upped their game with the basics of service. Ironic isn’t it, since the last visit was a review. Cutlery and bread plate placed before the bread itself (which is delicious, by the way). Food came within reasonable time. They allowed me to take away one serving of pasta as my lunch companion – the 3 year old – was still sound asleep in the pram.

Price-range

Going through their menu – their vegetarian pastas starts at 85 AED, and it goes up to 125 / 135 AED for their seafood risotto / spaghetti, then to 165 AED for their lobster spaghetti. Similar price-range for their burgers, averaging at 100 AED.

Overall Thoughts

Glad I came back to Seagrill for a bite, and will be doing so more often with the family as we go to the Fairmont quite a lot for their pool and beach.

Best bit?

Food is a 241 with the Entertainer, so it works out quite nice for the wallet. If you have kids 5 and under – they get to order from the kids menu for free, too!

If you’re wondering what else they have to offer for lunch – pop back to my previous review here 🙂 So if you feel like pasta or burgers in a really nice setting by the beach, this could be one of the many spots to consider this winter.

Have you been to Seagrill Bistro? What have you ordered and recommend?
