I’m no expert when it comes to Turkish cuisine. Unfortunately spending a couple of days in Istanbul on holiday doesn’t make you a pro. So here’s a review from someone who simply appreciates good food, a good spot and an overall good ambience 🙂
Where is it?
Overlooking the fountains in the “new” fashion avenue on the third floor ( next to one of our favourite middle-eastern restaurants Logma ). That new avenue is a maze on its on. Note that the ‘old Dubai mall’ only goes up to second floor (the Sharaf DG floor), so you have to walk from there to ‘new Fashion Avenue’ and take the lift up.
Did you say it overlook the fountains?
If humidity is not 75% in the evening (and you don’t have a full face of makeup), grab a seat in the terrace. We never get bored of the view there 🙂

What were the highlights?
The refreshing gavurdagi salad, the tender lamb chops, and must-order dessert firin sutlac ‘rice pudding’. I’m happy to go back there just to have the dessert. Mind you it’s a really big portion and is one for sharing between two (or three, if you’re a light-weight). 45aed is pretty reasonable for a good dessert I’ll say, and it comes with a scoop of ice-cream on the top 😉
Are there any deals right now? It’s not in the Entertainer, however they have a 50% off breakfast deal for the summer between 10-1pm that I keep planning to go back to (on to-do-list!).
Price?
On price point, it is definitely on the higher end of ‘Dubai mall restaurant prices’, with salads around the high 60s, wraps and sandwiches around 70aed, sliders between 70-100aed, then you get the mains like salmon, to steaks between 100-200aed. Whilst I’ll happily go to Logma next door if I wanted a similar view (plus it’s in the Entertainer), I think Huqqa is already a hit with locals and those who are keen for turkish food. I’ve already been hearing about it from workmate and friends alike who have been there and only have good things to say about it.
Next time you have guests and they want turkish food with view of the fountain? Take them to Huqqa. Let me know what you think of it 🙂
