Sweet Valentines @ Social by Heinz Beck

You know those times when you dine out with your other half, and both of you are so overwhelmed by everythingย – the service, the setting, the food, you rave about it to your friends for the next few weeks until they get so sick about it?

Yeah, that’s Social by Heinz Beck for you ๐Ÿ˜‰

The part that we were most impressed with, was timing.ย G was due to fly out that evening, which meant that we had toย beย finished by 9pm. Wasn’t ideal, butย they made do.

We looked at our watch when we finished our dessert, it was 8:58pm. Amazing.

Short and sweet, as Valentines should be, here’s a lil photo post as a token of appreciation to Waldorf, for completing our weekend with a 6-courseย degustation, each perfectly manicured to perfection. Kinda makes me feel like I should put more love into making food. Aww ๐Ÿ™‚

Starters, from the chef
And another ๐Ÿ˜‰ I was half full by then !
Tartar of scampi with papaya and cucumber
Scallops on pea purรฉe with artichokes and mint oil
Fine herbs risotto with marinated calamari
Black cod glassed with tomato coulis, cannellini beans and black cod snow. So silky, so delicious
Tiramisu. Delicious. So pretty I felt like like little fairies were gonna hop out of the dessert and start dancing.

And just when you thought it was all over, a selection of ‘after-dessert’ desserts, from the chef

Special thanks to the staff who took care of us that night. Didn’t get your name, but you were due to fly home to Rome the next morning, so you know who you are. We hope to see you again when we return next.

Recommend you take wifey there for a special occasionย ๐Ÿ˜‰ย Or send this postย to your partner/boyfriend/husband as a hint hint. Hee hee hee.

Hope you all had a great weekend with your loved ones!ย

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.

  1. I’ve heard a lot of nice things about all the restaurants out there (at WA, The Palm), but it’s soooo far from here. Or well, it’s not. I think it’s the mental thing about having to go all the way to an ISLAND to dine that makes me a very unfrequent Palm visitor:) Happy Valentine’s…a little late.
