Sunset Brunch @ Pure Sky Lounge

Wagyu heaven.

I feel guilty that we had so much wagyu last night. I’ll blame it on G, who kept ordering, and ordering! It was so so good though 🙂

So yesterday evening, we headed back to Pure Sky to try out their sunset brunch. Been looking forward to it for awhile now, and G had booked a week in advance but it sure is a busy spot as I was initially a lil disappointed we couldn’t get the seats facing the beach, aww. It still was nice though, beautiful, beautiful spot!

I started with an Orange Mojito and I’m sure they were trying to knock me out as it was quite strong but so refreshing at the same time. Not complaining! 😀

Pure Sky does a serve-to-table brunch, similar to that of Toro Toro and Bice. Very unique menu, with appetisers like salmon & soy sauce with horseradish powder, veal meatballs and chilli emulsion, and mozzarella truffle & asparagus.

Unfortunately it was dark when the food came out, so no nice photos, okay maybe I’ll put one if you can see what it is.

Then came starters – there was green thai papaya salad, pomelo salad, pickled mushrooms, and the one we snapped lots of photos of – a potted plant, which is supposedly quinoa salad & a baby carrot. It was so cute. I thought it was a “takeaway gift”.

And then, all the meat came. And when it came it was like, bang, whole table was filled with so much good meat. Chicken satay, Pandan wrapped salmon tikka (where did you guys get your pandan leaf from?), Miso crusted sea bass (YUM), and Malaysian prawn curry 🙂

Did I forget to tell you about the wagyu? Oh, the wagyu, it was heavanly.

And to finish it of, there was an array of desserts again served-to-table. Macadamia nut cream, Tropical fruits, and Sweet lemon grass & sago pearl soup. Give me sago and I’m sold 😉

Recommended – for couples, for friends, wanting a more relaxed, classy, brunch atmosphere. I love how they do it ‘earlier’ than the usual evening brunches. May I suggest live acoustic set during sunset?

On service, it was top-notch last night. I struggled to get her name but to the lovely Turkish-german doing her internship and has only been in Dubai for a week (!) – thanks for keeping us happy with the drinkies. Welcome to Dubai! Cheers as well to Shan who came to make sure we were OK, and to gorgeous Katie who kept the wagyu coming. I’m sorry if we ate too much.

Tip – Best way to get to Pure Sky is through the Bahar carparking on the marina side. Come down Al Sufouh ( from Barasti side) over the bridge, pass Grosvenor House. You’ll see the entrance to Bahar, same building as Ramada Plaza (you can see the sign at the top). Just get the taxi guy to go in there, and drop you right at the back door of Hilton Residences. Check out a separate post on this.

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
