The Ivy @ Jumeirah Emirates Towers

IMG_20130620_232002

Being a loyal Jumeirah fan (thanks to Arvin’s charm), we’ve been to many Jumeirah restaurants but have never explored the ones in Emirates Towers because a) it’s a wee bit far from where we live b) haven’t really heard any of our friends talk about the restaurants there, their reasons probably because of point a) above as well, haha. Aren’t we all lazy people 😀 I took M to The Ivy tonight, and I think we both left super full and happy 😀 I’ll say this now before I forget – if you’re not sure of what to try and you’re popping over to The Ivy – just order the Red Velvet ice-cream. It’s supposedly cream cheese ice cream. I know you’re trying to picture in your head right now. You understand what Red Velvet cupcakes are, kudos to those in Bloomingdales Dubai Mall. But ice cream? Haha. Go try it.

M started with the sashimi platter (thinly sliced for the perfect taste), whilst I had the piri-piri Tiger Prawns. Lika was right – it was so tasty 🙂

Followed soon after with the Australian grain-fed fillet, and M had the lobster. I sneaked a taste of hers – soo sweet! 🙂

It’s 11:51pm and my eyes are shutting, but I just really wanted to do a short post on it before I forget about the Red velvet ice cream. I may just dream about it tonight, got an image of a giant ice cream ball rolling after me…. hmmmm

Would like to extend my thanks to the lovely Lika who took care of M and I tonight. To Emily who organized my reservation quite quickly 🙂

Love the atmosphere – from the outside, you would never have guessed how busy The Ivy is… so next time you’re exploring the tower, just pop by in. They have live jazz on Thursday nights as well!

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
