GOSSIP Ladies Night @ Dek on 8, Media One Hotel

Updated post, 13th March 2015

Been two years since I’ve been back to Dek on 8 for their ladies night. Wasn’t the best experience back then to be honest (read review below), but I’m glad I gave it a second chance 😉

So last Wednesday, after one drink (Ps – not the best white wine, I don’t recommend it) at  their ground floor bar Z:One (Ladies nights 6-9pm), we shot off to Boutique 7 Hotel for a comedy show. My first ladies night out with blogger-friends MitzieMee and Mermaido, hee hee.

The show started out pretty awkward, with me in one of those, ‘omg-what-am-I-doing-here’ feeling. It then got a lot lot better, that I was actually having such a good time and will bring G back next time! I recommend you check their show out.

Sorry got off-topic 😉 We left at intermission, and came back to Media One Hotel, up to their 8th floor.

View from where we were at 🙂

Got comfy, kicked our shoes off, and jumped onto their sunbeds by the pool. They have a cocktail selection for their ladies nights, and they make it fresh at the bar (i.e not pour out from a huge pre-mixed jug 😉 ).

I wasn’t really in “blogging-mode” so didn’t take photos of the menu, help me out, what drink did we have again? Whatever it was, it was good, and strong. I only used one out of the three drink tokens that night.

Music isn’t that loud so you can talk, plus you’re super comfy on the sunbeds. There’s a table by the side for complimentary manicures as well! I’ll come back for that, next time round.

Happy that they’ve improved on their drinks ay. Thumbs up 🙂

Dek on 8 @ Media One Hotel

A wee bit jet-lagged so here I am blogging at midnight local time 🙂 Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Maybe I’ll do a random rambles edition on Cny in my lil hometown!

Anyways back on topic – us girls started the night at Embassy again on Wednesday for some delicious complimentary sushi and salads. Three drinks later we were thinking…… where to next?

Apparently there’s a new ladies night at Media One hotel. Remember M-dek? It’s now called Dek on 8 and they do complimentary drinks for the fairer gender till 10pm on Wednesdays. So we headed over there.

By the way Media One is such a difficult hotel to get to by car. You can see it but you can only get there if you turn off that Al falak Rd exit when you come off the Nakheel exit. Ah, just use the Gps!

The place is quite nice, it’s by the pool so you can get quite comfy on the many sunbeds 🙂 Only problem is it really is too cold now as we were all shivering even with a heater next to us! Suggest you bring a coat!

We were served this cocktail which I guess was the only choice for Ladies night. Unfortunately it was overly sour and sweet, and didn’t taste like there was any alcohol in it. The girls weren’t very happy!

We struggled to finish our drink and decided to call it a night. Didn’t really win many points on first impressions to be honest.

Maybe they should try the drinks before serving it to the patrons? Hmm.

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
