Oriental Foot Reflexology @ Thai Privilege Spa

Sept 2014 update : Thai Privilege Spa is no longer operating, and is replaced by The Purple Sanctuary.

Hee hee I’m in a good mood. I’ve got soft, supple, feet now. Thanks to Thai Privilege Spa, compliments of Aquarius‘ Comps 🙂

The spa is not on googlemaps if you want to try and find it – basically if you’re coming from the marina end of town, get onto Al Wasl road and once you hit the Thanya Road, turn into the Service Lane and keep going until you see TPS. Very easy, really.

G dropped me off and was chased out because it was strictly a “Ladies only” spa. Not cool for him aw but I guess it’s good for ladies so they feel more comfortable there. No complaints for me really – I’m the one getting a foot massage, he he.

The entranceway is nicely decored with potted plants and a water feature, making you feel like you’re entering a nice little retreat. I was ushered to the ‘foot scrub’ place shortly after, where my feet as placed in warm water and then gently scrubbed by the masseus with some paste (seriously cannot remember what it was). She then gave me some slippers and lead me upstairs to the treatment room.

I sat on the one of those “lazyboy” chairs and was put into “comfy” position, with a towel over my eyes for relaxation. She then began the 30-min foot reflexology treatment – and boy, was it… relaxing 🙂 I told her to increase her pressure and that lady definitely had a lot of strength despite her petite frame. Thoroughly satisfied.

After treatment, I was lead downstairs again and served a hot cup of ginger tea, a little bowl of green bean soup (what a nice surprise), and warm water. I spent probably another 45 minutes there just having my “afternoon tea” and reading through Emirates Women magazines. Oh, did I also mention that she gave me these warmed up “socks” for my seat, and also heated up bean bag for my shoulders while I was chilling?

Ha ha. I love Dubai.

Always nice to come back to nice spa, after my last horrendous experience at Clessidra.

I’m still searching for that ‘regular spa’ place, but there’s just so many in Dubai to try out! I was given a 150AED discount voucher after my treatment so I might come back, but will definitely carry on experiencing new places too 🙂

Watch this space – I’ll be going to Cleopatra’s Spa in two weeks for a 90min Coconilla Balinese Treatment, compliments of Brent Black on the Ride Home 🙂

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
