The Best Italian Restaurants in Dubai Marina : Insights, from an Italian Mum

We reached out to an Italian Mum to share her favourite Italian restaurants in and around the Dubai Marina. It’s always good to ask an actual Italian what is actually considered authentic – from their point of view, isn’t it? Have a read of this guest post written by Venere – who is originally from Molise and later on moved to Milan. She has lived in the Dubai Marina for over 7 years now, and is a foodie at heart.

Hopefully this will give you some insights on where to go, and what to try when you are feeling like some good Italian!

As an Italian living in Dubai Marina and a proud mum of a 6-year-old, I’ve explored the culinary gems in the area to find the best authentic Italian dining experiences. Whether you’re looking for a casual pizza night or a sophisticated dinner with wine, here are my top recommendations :

Bussola

Located in the Westin, Bussola offers a refined atmosphere and serves some of the best Italian cuisine in Dubai. It’s perfect for those who enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail with their meal. I usually order spaghetti with vongole out of menu and it’s one of the best here in Marina.

Luigia

For a lively and family-friendly atmosphere, Luigia is a great option. Their menu is extensive, and they also serve alcohol, making it a versatile choice for any occasion. They have a kids’ area with a cinema, foosball, and video games for all ages it’s an absolute dinner saver, keeping children of all ages entertained! As a dessert lover, I can’t resist their profiteroles and tiramisu — two of the best I’ve ever had! Alongside their delicious pizza, they’re always part of my order.

Massimo’s Italian Restaurant

For a cozy and casual Italian meal, Massimo’s is a great choice. While they don’t serve alcohol, their authentic flavors and family-friendly vibe make it worth visiting. They even have a proper Italian-style gelateria, offering some of the best gelato in Marina. I often order their takeaway pizza too—it’s excellent in terms of quality and delivery times, and it arrives perfectly, allowing you to enjoy it at home as if you were dining in. The owner, Massimo, is often present at the restaurant, personally checking in to see how everything is going. It’s always a pleasure to chat with him in Italian — it truly makes you feel at home!

L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele

For pizza aficionados, this legendary spot needs no introduction. L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele serves up authentic Neapolitan pizzas with high-quality ingredients. Their simple yet perfect menu is ideal for pizza purists. The pizza is extra-large, so much so that it spills over the edges of the plate when served! I love the capricciosa. The parmigiana is also a great choice – simply delicious.

My name is Venere, and I’m a fashion designer. Since moving to Dubai seven years ago, I’ve primarily dedicated my time to my 6-year-old son, Leo, who was born here. I live in Dubai Marina, which I consider the perfect area for families. With 24/7 supermarkets and pharmacies, the tram station right outside my door connecting me to every part of the city, and the ability to bike, scooter, or jog along the promenade, it offers unmatched convenience.

As someone who loves playing beach volleyball, living close to the sea is a dream come true. Another hobby I’m passionate about is swing yoga, which helps me stay active and balanced. Plus, with my Privilee membership, I can easily access gyms, spas, and beach clubs, maintaining a unique lifestyle that would be hard to replicate anywhere else.

I also enjoy sharing my experiences and hobbies on Instagram. Photography and creating video content for social media are my passions. If you’d like to follow my journey, you can find me on @vevelink
