Splash and Dine @ Khyber, Dukes the Palm Dubai

When was the last time you went out for Indian? How about having a pool and beach day, and end it with some award-winning North Indian cuisine? And that’s, what the new Splash and Dine offer at Khyber is all about – an offer put together exclusively with us, at the Dubai Family Leisure Guide.

Here’s all you need to know about the new Splash and Dine offer.

Let’s from the beginning.

Where exactly is Khyber in Dubai?

Khyber is situated on the 15th floor of Dukes the Palm, one of the many resorts located along Palm West Beach. Originating from Mumbai, the Dubai restaurant occupies a large space, with lots of comfortable seatings for families. There are beautiful murals along the walls, and the entire dining area has been designed to reflect the majestic Mughal era.

What does the Splash and Dine offer include?

In a nutshell, the Khyber Splash and Dine offer includes :

  • Indoor Pool Access – 7am to 9pm
  • Outdoor Infinity Pool Access – 7am to 10pm
  • Lazy River Access – 10am to 7pm
  • Set Menu Dinner at Khyber from 5pm

How much does it cost?

  • 149 AED per adult Mon-Thurs (3 Main Courses Set Menu with Rice & Bread, 3 Starters & 1 Dessert)
  • 199 AED per adult Fri-Sun (4 Main Courses Set Menu with Rice & Breads, 3 Starters & 2 Desserts)
  • Kids 6-12 are charged 50% of the set menu price. Kids under 6 go free.

Value for money, especially if you’re looking for indoor pool access this summer, right? As far as I am aware, there are no resorts that provide a day pass for their indoor pool, unless you pay for the spa package. Even so – most of them do not allow kids. So for Dukes to open up their pool for outside guests this summer is a huge plus.

Note that the Splash and Dine Summer Flavours Offer at Khyber runs from 22nd July to 30th of September 2024.

Is the Indoor Pool at Dukes the Palm family-friendly?

Very much so. In fact – it was mainly families at the pool when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. Some, with toddlers – some of them had their older kids swimming and the parents were lounging on the side.

The water is temperature-controlled, which was nice for the kids (and us!). There are also shallow areas with steps in the far corner (pictured, below) where you can chill, with waterjets to the side.

Things to note :

  • Indoor Pool is located on the 14th floor – a floor down from Khyber ;
  • Towels, provided ;
  • Outdoor shower and 1 no. bathroom by the Indoor Pool ; and
  • Indoor shower, Changing room, and Toilets located in the Gym Area, which is on the same floor.

How is the Outdoor Pool and Lazy River at Dukes, like?

If you can brave the heat and humidity – you have access to the outdoor infinity pool and lazy river as well. Have a look at how expansive the area is – you could literally spend the whole day here with the kids.

Not shown – is a covered outdoor playground as well.

What is the Set Menu Summer Flavours offer at Khyber like?

After getting the kids showered and changed on the 14th floor, we took the lift up just one level to Khyber. The great thing is that it opens at 5pm – which is perfect for dining with young kids who (supposedly) sleeps early.

We wandered around the venue – admiring the intricate details – the scalloped arches and fluted pillars, the marble flooring and beautiful murals.

For the Summer Flavours set menu – you get a plate of starters, 4 curries in the main course – with tandoori bread and saffron pulao to share. Don’t worry – dessert is included in the set menu as well.

To start, we requested the ‘mild’ version to suit our tastebuds but boy oh boy were we in for a nice surprise, haha. I thought the Malaysian in me could tolerate a reasonable level of spice! Starters came – prawns marinated with aromatic spiced yoghurt, chicken stuffed with spinach and cheese, finished in tandoor, and a chapli kebab – which was shallow-friend lamb patties. The lamb was the absolute killer here – setting of all of your senses!

We tried a few of their mocktails – and ended up settling with Khyber’s mango lassi, which was the perfect antidote for the spice. Everyone loved it – the 3 kids, mummy and daddy.

The 4 curries from the mains were – chicken in cashew creamy sauce, slow-cooked lamb (so tender), and two vegetarian optionscottage cheese with bell papers, and lentils and kidney beans with cream & tomato puree. I will reiterate – I am not an Indian Cuisine expert but we loved it all.

The tandoori bread came to table hot – freshly made, crisp on the edges and soft in the centre. The kids have always loved tandoori bread and we demolished the first bowl, and asked for more.

Here’s a a sneak peak of one of their private rooms – this one pictured, seats 40 guests!

An awesome offer this Summer

If you have never been to Khyber – this is possibly the best time to do it while they have this offer.

The indoor pool is such a plus for families with young children that want to go for a dip, but don’t want to be bothered with the heat and humidity. Book a spot, as it will get busy!
