A friend of mine who’s very much well-acquainted with the Russian mums community told me about this new cafe in the marina with an amazing play area. Unicorn Cafe – it was called. We went over mid April to review the venue with the kids in tow – excited to see another cafe so close to us, with an indoor play corner.
Here’s all you need to know about Unicorn Cafe!
Where is Unicorn Cafe?
Unicorn Cafe is located on the marina promenade level of Liv Residence. For the JBR and Marina residents – the closest tram station is JBR1. There is ramp access to get from road level to promenade level so don’t stress if you have a pram!

Is there parking at Unicorn Cafe?
May 2025 Update –
You can park in Park Island’s paid parking – and you get 2 hours complimentary upon validating your parking ticket as a guest of Unicorn Cafe. Do give them a call at 052 733 1283 to double check in case circumstances have changed.
What’s the interior like?
It’s a nice space – separated into two areas. I would like to call it the – if you’re with kids area vs the if you’re not with kids’ area, haha!
The main cafe space has long tables so you can bring your laptop to work, facing the marina. It’s great for meetings as well – especially if you have little ones and you want to pop them at the play area (which I will get onto, soon).

What is the play area like?
Now – this is the highlight family with young kids. It’s a large space with separate activity areas at the bottom – cooking, supermarket, library, garage, beauty salon. There’s toys for the little ones to play with in each area – though I would definitely suggest more to be added!
Not shown in the photo below is a ballpit on the right hand side. As there is a lot of space for them to run around on the soft mat, my 3 and 5 year old were launching themselves onto the ballpit half the time. They actually got proper sweaty!

On the upper level of the play structure, you’ll crawl in and find a whole wall full of busy boards. This is amazing for the younger ones.

Note that Unicorn Cafe has a staff to keep an eye out on the kids and keep the place tidy.
Do they have other kids’ activities and masterclasses too?
Unicorn Cafe hosts a series of masterclasses and events throughout the week. Some are paid – some are complimentary. Over the weekend they had a complimentary ‘Encanto party’ where they got entertainers to come, with games, activities, cryo and bubble shows. Pretty fun, right? Keep an eye out of upcoming events from their instagram page @unicorncafe.ae.
What do they serve, at Unicorn Cafe?
Unicorn Cafe has a deli section at the front – serving savouries like hotdogs (8AED) and crepes (5AED), to sweets like cashew balls (10AED) to their lovely unicorn signature cakes (45 AED).
If you little one is a unicorn fan – take her here for a little treat! She will love the unicorn cake pops or signature cake.

You could also have a proper hot meal. Pleasantly surprised to their prices to be very reasonable for such a nice cafe in Dubai Marina.
Main dishes are on average 35AED – with the likes of Beef Stroganoff, to Chicken Cutlets. They have a nice kids’ menu as well – like chicken and pumpkin soup, as well as the russian specialty – borsh, for 17AED.
Happy a well-priced menu in our neighbourhood!

Is there a minimum spend at Unicorn Cafe?
As of Sunday 21st of April – Unicorn Cafe have implemented a minimum spend of 80AED for 2 hours use of the kids’ zone. You can use this on F&B for the family. Updated May 2024 – Currently, it’s a minimum spend of 80AED per child, for 2 hours use of the kids’ zone. Additional kids are 40aed.
Take the kids over soon!
