When was the last time you went for a Brazilian Churrascaria? About time to do that – and where’s a better spot than good ol’ Fogueira with amazing views of the Dubai Marina and JBR skyline. Would you bring the kids? Or would you do it without?

Where exactly is Fogueira?

Fogueira is located on the 35th floor of Delta Hotels by Marriott Jumeirah Beach. It’s been there from the very beginning – back when it used to be Ramada Plaza Hotel. The long-time JBR residents would be very familiar with the venue then 😉 The restaurant has since gone through revamps so if you haven’t been for a few years – it’s time to give them a visit!

Just in case you’re curious as to how it was back then, have a peek at our experience at Fogueira over their Brazilian Independence Day, back in 2015!

The views from there, must be amazing then?

Very much so. From one side, their outdoor terrace looks back onto the Dubai Marina towards Dubai Marina Mall, JLT and beyond.

How beautiful is this, at night?

And from the other side of their terrace, it looks back onto JBR and Bluewaters. Beautiful scenes at sunset.

What sort of food do they serve at Fogueira?

Fogueira is portugese for bonfire (thanks, Google translate!) – and portugese is the primary language for Brazilians. If you are Brazilian and this is not correct, please be kind with me! 😀 What do you get with meat and fire……… churrascaria!

You get a huge selection of churrasco meat at Fogueira.

There’s all cuts of beef – we’re talking picanha, ribeye, striploin, flank, to slow-cooked beef ribs. There’s chicken thighs, and spicy wings. Don’t worry – there’s succulent, tender lamb chops too. We loved their shrimps, and of course – our very favourite – pineapple with cinnamon and sugar!

There’s also their buffet selection to keep everyone happy – salads, soups and side dishes. Try their classic pao de quejio, cassava chips, coxinha and fried polenta. There’s just so much Brazilian food to feast into.

Is Fogueira family-friendly? Were the kids comfortable there?

We went with the kids on a Wednesday evening during the term break, mid March. It was still so cold – and they were kind enough to provide blankets which the kids absolutely loved as they could cosy up and be silly in it, all night.

They loved using the tongs to pick the meat – it was an experience by itself. It’s great that this was all brought to the table so we could keep the kids at the table as well -instead of running back and forth to the buffet spread!

Note that kids are allowed in the restaurant, as well at the restaurant terrace facing the marina side. Kids are not allowed at the terrace, facing the JBR side – which is more suitable for the adults. This is also where Ladies Nights happens 😉

Is there any entertainment at Fogueira?

As we had visited during Ramadan – there was no live entertainment in the evenings.

At all other times throughout the year – they do have live Brazilian dancers, as well as live music. I can imagine the kids would love this.

Will we return with the kids?

I think this will very much depends on which evening, and our mood – ha ha! We had a really comfortable and fun evening with the kids and my mum when we went there on a Wednesday night. There were a lot of families there. I would come back with the kids for the churrascaria experience for sure. I also think it would be a really fun spot for the adults-only crew – for their ladies night offer!

Give it a try. Time to revisit Fogueira for some meat and caprinha!
