Breakfast with Kids @ Roseleaf Cafe, Dubai Garden Centre

Whilst I think that the security guard was not very happy at our little ones, we had such a good time at the Dubai Garden Centre this morning. Let’s just say good for the first 3 hours, minus the last ten minutes when I had to literally pick a screaming 2-year old who did not want to leave this little oasis off Sheikh Zayed Road.

If you have toddlers and would like to do something different than play area no.168, spend a morning here. There’s RTA parking right in front, they would love looking at the fishes, turtles, plants, and lots of ceramic animals (my girl loved the giant iguana!). Best bit for mummy – there’s a gorgeous little cafe tucked amidst the greenery – Roseleaf Cafe.

Two days ago I managed to grab an awesome deal through The Huntr – a pdf that would give you access to 241 deals to 16 Dubai gems. Never followed The Huntr before that, and I only came to know about it through JLT Dining who shared one of their posts. Will be busy for the next few weeks checking the rest of these spots out 🙂

So, how was Roseleaf Cafe? Was the food good? Would I return with the family?

It’s beautiful for sure. We sat outside, though I would definitely say it did a bit too warm as it is the facade is entirely glass. The place is quite cosy so there’s not much space for giant prams so leave those in the car if you can or park it outside the cafe.

I ordered The Baltic Breakfast – a generous portion of scrambled eggs, with salmon, pickled onions atop rocket & seed pesto on rye bread.

For the other dish which I knew my girls would definitely eat – the Acai Bowl with a delicious combination of every fruit possible – banana, dragonfruit, berries, pineapple, mango and honey toasted whole oats.

With the 241 deal, that is altogether for 45 AED 🙂

The breakfast menu leans towards the healthier options. Think oatmeal, muesli’s, that thing every cafe must have – avo on toast. If you’re looking for english breakfast with sausages, fried eggs, hash brown and the whole shebang, go to Reform or my favourite go-to spot with the family – Plantation at Sofitel JBR.

Drinks? You could get fresh juices for around 25 AED, smoothies close to 30 AED. A babycino is 8 AED should the little ones want one. Not cheap I’ll say when it comes to drinks or “standard-nice-Dubai-cafe-prices”.

Service? It did start off with a hiccup, as staff were initially not very sure of what we were entitled to as part of the deal. Not to dwell too much into it, the issue was very quickly resolved. Food came quick, staff came to check on us to ensure we were okay, no issues 🙂

Would we return? Definitely. It would be fab if they could keep the 241 deal though? 🙂
